Hey guys, im a bit new to the cruiser world and i am so pumped i found an Alabama group. Ive got an 87 FJ60 that im just starting work on. still mostly stock at the moment but my parts are starting to trickle in :bounce: any ways i just want to stop in and say hey.

Also does anyone know a shop that is near the Birmingham area that can do a Cut and Turn SOA for a fj60? This is the one thing holding me back....

First off, welcome! I saw you posted in the Birmingham meetings thread, you need to try and make it on July 9 so we can meet you. It's good to have another 60 around too.

Second, I'm not sure about shops that would do that around here. I think the only one that might be worth a try is "southern offroad" in Pelham, but I have never dealt with them so go at your own risk. They may just sell parts though, not sure.

Welcome.

You should try talking with Elbert b/c he might have some more info on the 60 and he is in the Cullman area.

Welcome!,
You might try to talk to some one from the Rocket City Rock Crawlers in Huntsville ...... I know that there used to be a few places up there that did them but i don't know if they are still around. IIR. R & R speed shop was one of them.

Not sure if they do cut and turns but Rocket City Offroad (not the same as the club, lol) might can perform a C&T for you. Just call and ask Danny:

Also, could Blue Torch FabWorks do it? Just wondering cause I have no clue.

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to meet local cruiser folks in Bama. I just joined a few weels ago and have been very excited about the FJ enthusious in the state.

Another shop you could check in the pelham area is Sport Trucks. They may be able to elp you with what you are looking for.

Good Luck and look forward to whelling with you.

I know a little bit about the 60's... I have a OME suspension lift. A friend helped me with the engine swap and other mechanical projects. Be glad to share what I know. I don't know anyone around this area that does "cut & turns", but that does not mean I know all there is.

I do know there is a shop down below Gardendale that's suppose to be able to do most anything. THe area south of Gardendale before you get into Birmingham...forgot the local name. I think his place is located off of Hwy 31. There is a shop out in Cullman county that suppose to do some work too... I've never dealt with either one, so don't know what they are capable of. I can get the names and phone numbers if you need them.

So far I've tried to stay with someone I trust...and that's my friend Les.... I don't plan on anything radical, as I want to keep some decent road manners and reasonable drivability.

Elbert, are you talking about Fultondale? I think I remember driving by a place with some offroad vehicles parked out front one time, but it was a really long time ago.

You guys are talking about The Offroad Connection. It's behind a carwash next to Doodles. I think the guy that runs it helps Tony @ grayrock put on a lot of the rides.

Yeah.. Fultondale... could not recall the name. I know a couple of guys locally have said they do all kind of stuff down there. Personally I don't know factually about either one.

Rocket City off road out side Huntsville said they can do and have done it before, and its not to terribly expensive!

Great to here.

Bamaboy I went to UNA and I come through there for the football games so if you are in town then maybe we could go ride some pretailgate.

Oh yea, sounds good! you from around here?
