That sounds great to me! Let me know what you guys work out in terms of when, I'll try and work it out. I've got the rotors already, and 100 series pads will be here on Thursday.

HAMOM February

So, I've got a question: I threw a check engine light earlier this week. Pulled the code, googled it, and it looks like an o2 sensor. Looks like the downstream one had been replaced relatively recently, but the upstream one looks original (240K!?). I ordered a Denso replacement and went under the truck to swap it out, but the nuts holding it on were rusted to the point of there not even being a hex shape anymore. I chipped off the rust flakes hoping to find something I could get a wrench on, but no luck—it was a rusty blob, at best. I'm sure if I tried to break them free, I'd just break the studs. Any pro tricks?

Other than soaking them over night in pb blaster that's all I know to do. Luckily my exhaust bolts broke loose after 24 hr soak.

I hit them with PB Blaster about 30 minutes before I got under there. I'll hit em again tonight…and again in the morning. And they're bolts?! Then I don't know what's going on there. I expected bolts…but I've got threads up above what seemed to have, at one point many moons ago, been a hex nut. And there's not much room around that upstream sensor…

When I said bolts I was referring to my experience. I was having to replace a gasket. Luckily I haven't had o2 issues. If I did I'd prob just deal with the check engine light. Hate those things.

They very well could be nuts.

Mine are nuts. Granted our exhaust are a lot different. I would assume yours are similar

Well, at least I was on the right track. They're still abstracted to the point of not being able to get a wrench on them…but glad to know they weren't bolts that lost their heads completely. Haha. Trying to see the silver lining here. Thanks for taking the time to snap that pic!

soak maybe once or twice every day for a week... crawl under there and soak with PB maybe 5 days in a row... they'll eventually come out... even if it brings out the studs, which is common...

with a long enough breaker bar... they'll pop off...

I'll do that—multiple day soaking of PB Blaster. But, how do you get a breaker bar under there? It's pretty tight around that upstream sensor! And say the studs do come out, what are my options at that point?

hmm, something can be fabbed as a breaker bar...
If the studs come out... use them to go back in as bolts! LOL...

If you're not comfortable doing it, bring it over one night... I can't be held liable for it breaking it because I work on computers for a living. I'll break it for you, LOL!

The necessity of this trip out there is only growing by the day. Haha! Just lemme know when's good for you. I could maybe still swing Sunday, if you're down. If not, just lemme know what would work for you and I'll try and make it happen.

I like Sunday. I'm religious just don't go to organized church, so anytime after my coffee... after 9-10...
gimme a holler. fo fo seven- 3 oh 38 is my number

soak them bolts every day before Sunday, and bring your brake stuff...

Maybe we can get some on-lookers out here.

I'll do multiple soaks daily till then. And I'll look to come your way after coffee. Just be on the lookout for a text from a Left Coast cell number. Thanks for being willing to help! Glad to hear you guys got Milliron sorted out tonight. I'll bring the brake rotors, pads, and o2 sensor. Lemme know if I need to bring anything else.

Just be ready for a good time! wrenching is fun! @MillironFZJ80 came in clean clothes and left in dirty ones!

Very nice looking rig... So clean.

I haven't been thinking about your locker situation, but it just kinda came up in my head, and it may be because of this thought I just had: It's uncanny at hearing how many dealerships DISABLED the locker feature for customers for FEAR that they would accidentally enable the lockers and cause some sort of accident... So the fact that your truck has a lot of evidence that the maintenance has been being at dealerships, and seeing OEM parts in places that they normally aren't... It is a STRONG possibility that the dealership pulled the fuse in the lockers "just so" they wouldn't accidentally engage the lockers. Especially if they told the dealership that they never use them...
Here's to hoping that's the issue. If it is... All you need to do is put the fuse back in. It may literally be that simple...

To catch everyone up in case they're scratching their heads. This truck has lockers, but the fuse was pulled for some reason by the PO, not too sure why.

First off, big thanks to @Land Speeder for being a huge help and a great teacher. Got new pads and rotors on, and had some knowledgeable eyes look over my rig. Great meeting @Godwin too!

Regarding the lockers, there seems to be no good reason not to start there. I remember you mentioning "exercising" the switch too, so I'll give it multiple tries when I put a fuse back in. This is going to be another fairly ignorant question, but when turning the switch, how do I know if it engaged the lockers or not?

And regarding the suspension issues we talked about, I'll start a new thread…
