Ok my conclusion on the pocket flares from China .. Do not buy them.. I had to make tons of modifications .. Trimming, cutting and a heat gun. The small flare on the door is the worst..not even close to fitting flush

. Talking to the company to see if they'll make the modifications and produce a better product.. So these are coming off and the fiberglass pocket flares made in the USA and sold on Mud are going on. and of course my cruiser now has a bunch of new holes and may have a few more to mount the other flares

I was looking online and found the china wheel place that sells fender flares. They have your pic on there as an example. You say not get them due to all the modifications right? Who would you suggest on MUD for new flare similar to yours? Thanks

Yes they require quite a bit to get them to fit. The small flare that attaches to the rear door requires a curve to fit ..the ones they send were flat.
after multiple conversation they sent me new rear door flares that have the curve but i have not installed them yet.

Try this link below for flares made here and sold on MUD .....I have a set of these in a box and will most likely install them when i have my truck painted

FZJ80 Pocket Flares 93-97 now available

My windshield washer diverter finally took a dump so I ordered a new diverter a pump for the water reservoir and Dorman washer fan spray nozzles..
Easy install and a huge improvement
over the factory nozzles. Also found the TOYOTA Hood insulation clips on Amazon. You will break the factory clips to access the nozzles.
One of my LED reverse bulbs needed replacement and also found them on Amazon $14.00 for two

The truck is headed to the bodyshop for a fresh coat of black paint so I ordered factory fixed glass and new weather strip to replace the sliding rear side windows.. I'm preparing in hopes that Kevin of Wagongear decides to makes me a set of his flip up windows that use the factory glass. I know there is a group buy for the Emu Wings from AU
but I'm going to hold off in hopes of getting the Wagongear version

Hey Lou,

Can you confirm that the glass is just flat? If so could I possibly bribe you into tracing it out on some butcher paper and mailing it to me? Also maybe throwing a set of calipers on it and measuring the thickness? Just let me know what I can comp you for your time and materials, etc!!

Ryan I can confirm it's not flat and would be happy to trace it and send it your way if you still want it. I've got my eyes on the brake setup you're working on and might be interested in picking your brain once you have the setup figured out..

Sounds good. If it's not just flat glass like I was expecting than my idea won't work. I will just be better off ordering the OEM glass for $139ea or whatever Beno quoted me. I will be trying to talk to some CNC machine shops the end of this week when I get back from Myrtle Beach, so hopefully I will have some good brake info than. Thanks again!

Hey bud. Epic truck. What size Rhino Platform Pioneer rack are you running? Looking at getting one

I don't remember the size but it's full length. I was asked this question not to long ago. Rhino Rack's web site has a sizing schematic that works for the 80 series. The biggest change is it comes in black now. Looks like there's one size

TreerootCO's woven mesh grill has been one mod I've wanted to copy. So I ordered the woven mesh and got started today. This mesh is seriously heavy and required an angle grinder and cutoff wheel just to cut it. Still need to fiberglass and bondo the holes and sandblast everything. Should be done this week.

Gathering parts for the repaint... Scored front door handles in Black.. Can't find new rear handles but did find two used ones... No more chrome door handles that I believed were port installed along with chrome mirrors which I previously replaced

Took a trip down to IPOR this morning for removal of both bumpers and roof rack. Much easier to have them remove and reinstall then the bodyshop and having them install the WildYoats daytime running light bracket and LED lights in my front bumper..... plan on using the ARB turn signal wiring for the side marker lights I'm installing. I've had both of these Mods in a box for two plus years so it's time to get them done

Lance welded the frame and tabs on the woven mesh so all that's left is sand prime and paint the plastic grill frame

That grille is very cool! I'm going to resist copying you (again) but it wont be easy, I'd love a grille like that. Great work!

No worries because I copied TreerootCo. Even ordered the same mesh from the same company:)

Cut four new holes in the body of my truck in preparation for the body shop tomorrow. I cut two for the side marker lights I got from Mot years ago and two big holes for the hood vents I've had for a few years. They will be sand blasted and painted black.
