Needs a more beefy looking screw head like a m14 Allen cap screw.
Else it looks real good.
That's a great idea...but the first thing needed s a bigger rivnut tool that works on stainless. The one I have did not get the rivuts tight so I just orded a larger one

Luke - was looking at your front door speaker panels and I have to tell you those look terrible, you need to make yourself a new set and send those to me :)

No, seriously if you ever considered making more I would definitely buy some from you. Ah to have 6.5" speakers in the doors

I agree, you should get this stuff 3D scanned so some Mud member or 3rd party manufacturer can replicate them without as much time and effort by you, and we can all pay you and enjoy great products

Great work.

I may end up making another set but not any time soon..

Thanks , I think the cost of R & D and production ....measure that against how many you'd actually sell it's really not worth the time and effort but if anyone here has the means and equipment or knows a local to me company, I'd be happy to let them scan the pods etc..

A little bondo...lots of sanding.. commercial grade contact cement a heat gun and I've got finished rear pillar pods... I'll have them wired and installed tomorrow

Got the pods wired and installed and all I can say is Wow!.... these 4 inch components rock. Punchy base I'm assuming due to the fact they are in the pods ....these things are phenomenal. I could never tell if the 3.5 infinity speakers where even on..... we'll that's changed. Working on a patch cover for the headliner

On a side note anyone looking for a Nut/Thread Hand Riveter .. I picked this up on Amazon for $65.91 normally $183.95., Needed something this heavy duty to install the stainless Nutserts for the fender flares

Crazy thing is a paid $6.00 to get it next day..we'll Amazon contracts with this second class delivery company that uses contract drivers in their personal cars... The package should have arrived yesterday and you guessed it .. It never arrived ... It took the delivery company until 2:30 today to contact the driver only to find out he took the package home and decided on his own that he wouldn't be doing deliveries today. They told him to bring the package to the warehouse and I have to drive out to the nameless company and pick it up..
This was such a joke I called Amazon and lit into them for even using a company like this and ended up getting a full refund. Checking out the delivery company on line..98 reviews and 90 were related to Amazon deliveries .. rating was 1.5 stars... It's an east cost company.

I didn't think you were supposed to put grease on oil impregnated bushings. Something about the porousness of the brass.

I have no idea but initially just changing the bushing did make it easier to open and close the swing arms but another form member indicated he and others installed zerks into swing arm post collars and had good results so I asked Lance at IPOR to install them and it worked.. I don't know the long term effects but bushing are pretty cheap to replace....so for now I'm happy with the results.. These swing arms are made and welded in house.. the first one we pulled Lance noticed the heat from welding had deformed and cause a slight raised portion inside the collar which caused the bushing tightness so that was filed down before installing the new bushings

Those pods look amazing! Really impressive work. So when can I drop of my 80? The internet is the best equalizer for terrible companies. The ability to post reviews means bad companies are exposed faster than simple word of mouth amongst friends. To relate though I had a temprary USPS driver who tried to "keep" a package. I had to track him down in the neighborhood and effectively threaten him. He delievered said package in his personal vehicle last night. Makes you go hmmm. You probably would have found your riveter on Ebay that evening if you had done nothing.

I have the same tool. I thought it was a great buy as well, but I basically wore it out installing the Slee sliders on my 200. Be forewarned that for heavy usage, it will not hold up.

As usual, great work!

Thanks... third time working with fiberglass ...I made a sub woofer enclosure and the door pods...watched a few video's.. talked to a Mud member with knowledge and bought a ring cutting jig....easier then i thought

Just going through sheet metal.... You installed sliders with nutserts? that had to be a PITA ...mine are welded on

Ok my conclusion on the pocket flares from China .. Do not buy them.. I had to make tons of modifications .. Trimming, cutting and a heat gun. The small flare on the door is the worst..not even close to fitting flush

. Talking to the company to see if they'll make the modifications and produce a better product.. So these are coming off and the fiberglass pocket flares made in the USA and sold on Mud are going on. and of course my cruiser now has a bunch of new holes and may have a few more to mount the other flares

In building the rear pillar pods I had to access the rear cargo area and remove the sub enclosure... The sub was dead and has been replaced with a JL Audio in it's own enclosure that sits between the fridge and the side panel. With the enclosure out I decided to build a box into that area even though it will not be accessed very often.. with the sub blocking it .. but it was a dead spot so why not fill it.
The side panel has a flat section that's appropriately 25 inches long... so the box and outside panel cover that area. I used both ends of the factory panel on either side....I had previously hacked up the factory panel to install the sub enclosure so I used a few strips of wood and cover both with marine vinyl of similar color.. Still need to work out a few details and decide if I'm going to have it Line-x'd or just cover with marine vinyl

I didn't even see the Lexus for the first few minutes.

Quick question, Lou, posed only because of the changes made as you've progressed.

Would you do the deadener any differently?

What Lexus?

Would you do the deadener any differently?

The only change would be to use Second Skin Spectrum over the foil backed deadener on the floor like i did on the doors and my 55... You can also shoot a bed liner on top of the Spectrum for a bullet proof finish... If this is for your 55 you'll want a ceramic coat or two in the mix as well.
