Hey, I just got an 80 to give my 40 a little company. anyway I have a few questions about it.

Can i fin 15in. rims on an 80? what b/s do i need?

What about makeing my own basket. I dont have access to a welder and i was wondering if you all knew any good way to make one. (or if i should just buy one)

I have freinds with jeep tj's, and i see them running around with 2in budget boost. can i buy one for my 80?(yes i know a ome lift will be better)

thank you all for your information.

What year model is your 80? I believe 91-92 fits a 15" rim, and 93-97 will fit in front and will also fit the the rear but with some grinding. As for backspacing, read around, I think 3.25 is the minimum you would want to go with a lift. Any amount less than that will cause rubbing issues and issues with hitting the fenders, unless of course you have fenders removed and big lift. Also, there is no budget boost right now, nor is it recommended. You can get a 1" spacer for the front, but the stock springs are so soft adding a bigger spacer will cause driveability and possibly safety issues.

ok. on the 15in. rims, mine is a 94.

i know this may be dumb but by more backspacing, do you mean like 4in, or like 3 in?

also what do i need to grind?

You would want to stick to 3.25 to 4.5 or 5.5, whatever the stock backspacing is.

and 16" wheels

I drive a 1990 LC 80 and had no trouble fitting 15" rims to it. The old LC's had 15" rims as a standard. If you have to grind a caliper to fit, I would stay with the 16" rims. Newer LC's have bigger rotors which I see as better brakes, and use a 16" rim as a standard.

I see no advantage with going backwards.

Tire selection is better and a little bit cheaper in most cases. Also you get a bit more sidewall, which has some advantages.
