Hey all.
Just scored a 1985 1 owner FJ60 and got it home from a long stay down South.
Super clean, 123,000 miles, ready to build.
I have ARB and 4:11's, Longfields for the front as well as a Detroit and another third member for the rear axle. Of course, a pair of high steer arms and new tie rods and drag link from Luke.
I have replaced the front calipers, pads and rotors to get it mobile and plan on a spring over during Christmas to get the 35 x 12.5 x 15's to fit.

The main question I have in performing the SO is should I do a shackle reversal as well?
I have searched and searched and came up empty.

I want to pull the hanger from the rear of the front springs and mount it to the front crossmember.
Weld on scab plates and hang the shackle from the frame...

Is this the correct means of doing this.

The rear axle is a no brainer.

Just want to ask, say hi and go back to lurk mode...

I wouldn't do a reversal but that's just my .02 cents.

You do know that a 2" body lift and 2-1/2" lift springs will also fit 35's???

Where did you pick it up?

Wow, big plans! Is this going to be your daily driver? or just for wheelin?

If you do a shackle reversal at the same time you do your spring over, your front end will be WAY higher than your rear, you'll have to adjust for that.

This will be my daily driver.
I have about 6 years experience driving Detroited rears and LOVE them.

I got this 60 on Ebay for $1875.00 USD.
Shipped from Slidell, La. after living in Santa Fe, Nm all its life.

My 4 year old daughter and I cleaned it out one day and found 2 chameleons inside, they are now living in our house, free range......

As far as the BIG plans are concerned, it is another truck to build.
I assumed since the SR was common with 40's that a parallel to 60's would be there.....

My 40 is getting Dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear as I type this, and I hope to have it rolling again by this weekend.
A whole lot of work, but it keeps me humping.....

and the after..............

Moved out to the PNW and this rig is on a car carrier to me.
Can't wait to steelhead on the river with this on the bank...........

Action shots to come :flipoff2:

I can't believe they are the same truck. Did you clock the front axle housing?

What rims are those?

Truck looks killer.

Front housing was cut and turned.

7 degrees knuckles and IIRC 15 on the pinion.

Wheels are from Marsh.

Thanks for the compliment, hard to believe the way it looks myself.

When locked, this thing is unstoppable.
Hate to mangle the body in the TSF, but it is made to wheel, not cruise the mall.

NICE!! Thing looks sweet!! Did those beadlocks come with the rims or were they aftermarket?

Sweet. I just got my first 60 about a week ago. Once I get it on the road I'll post up pics.
Have you checked out Cascade Crusiers yet? Great bunch of people.
Maybe we can go fishing some time.

I was in Newburg last weekend and met Mark Hawley.
Planning on doing a bit of work on it once it arrives here.
New clutch kit, few other things to weatherproof it.

The wheels are beadlocked Marsh Racing Wheels.

16.5's with the 6 on 5.5 Toyota pattern.

Can't wait to get it here.

Thansk for the props

Ooooo Rubithon next year??

The 60's INVADE!!!!!!

Please get some armor b/f you mangle that cleeean body! Looks really good! Any action shots yet?

Are those the Hummer tires? I have seen them posted rather cheap on other boards (J**P , etc.) How do they preform?

Also, what kind of backspacing can you run with 16.5 rims?

Armor is on the way.
I have a sliders, front and rear bumpers drawn up in SolidWorks and plan on fabricating those this winter.

The Hummer tires are not bad aired way down. Thats why they are on beadlocks.
I got them brand new and felt they would be great for DD'ing the wagon as well as up in the trails.

Back spacing is 4" on 8" wide wheels.
