Happy Friday Everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself as I'm a new to Landcruiser owner as of of 9:30 last night. She has just 70K on it and looks as if no one ever drove it, kind of odd.

I'm previously coming from and 03' Land rover Discovery II and have spent much time in the Land Rover forums. I believe I'm going to be very happy with this truck and look forward to upgrades and seeing what this truck can do. This looks like a great sight from what I initially see and has much more to offer then the LR sites.

My plans for this truck are new front trosion bars and shock, rear springs and shocks, ARB Front bumper and new tires when I wear the new Mich tires down some good ATR's.

Cheers

Congrats! Love the black, still makes me jealous I didn't get one

Nice.

I also like that Discovery in the background.

Another mighty '99. Looks nice, and if my experience is any guide they are bombproof. I did't really have to do much at all until after 200K miles :-)

Congratulations, 2001 was certainly the high point of the UZJ100's (IMHO)

Is yours with or without Nav?

No Nav not that I'd needed it since I'll put maybe 3000K on a year. Had here out today and Wow, what a truck!! Not sure I'll hit the trails with it due to the size but well see. My 04'Disco is nimble although push button for CDL sure beats having to shift manually.

Sweet - that tlc is going to finally get the adventurous life it deserved

Gonna ditch the hitch?

Did it have the rear locker?

So glad the one from Autobarn found a home on here. Looked like a great truck, was considering taking a look at it.

Love the Disco, Cruiser may be a bt bland in comparison, but the Cruisers are so much better built. I gave up on my classics, P38s and L322s.

Nice Hundy. Congrats ! You will like it. They are well built machines.

Its been a week now since I've been a 100 owner and really diggin it!!!

Drives so much better then my 04' Disco. I would best compare it as going from driving a tank to a sofa.

Do most people take off the running boards off these trucks? My guess is yes if you plan on doing any type of wheeling.

Just dealing with some minor issue of purchasing a used truck. Have a spare wheel lock with no key that needs to be cut. A handful of dings that need to be removed. Going to change over to Mobile 1 and flush fluids in the summer.

Given the fact that the truck has only 70,000 miles I'm pretty sure the timing belt has never been replaced. Since the truck is now 13 years old should this be down per the calander? Anyone pull a belt of this age and can comment on its condition?

Glad you like you new ride.
Do do drive nice. They are sofa's with tank abilities lol

A lot of folks take off their running boards, mostly to replace them with sliders and for aesthetic reasons.

I didn't. Reason being that the are handy when entering en exiting the vehicle and I need all the protection I can get against the elements. As you can see, it gets dirty quick in the great white north.

Timing belts needs replacement after 90k or 72 months (I think) which ever comes first.
Usually people focus on the 90k, because it is not cheap. It is quite a tear down, thats why it would be wise to replace the tensioners and waterpump too.
