How much should I expect to spend to have a new alternator installed on my 99 LC? A local shop wants $435. Has anyone else had to have this done? My 99 has only 64,000 miles!

heck I havn't even look to see where the alt is in a 100

Have it rebuilt and reinstalled. Should be much cheaper. I had a alternator rebuilt on a 91 for 90 bucks. They took it off, rebuilt it and put it back on.

The part OEM alternator lists for $311, you could probably get it for less than $240.
