Sold my 80 and my 60 to buy the :princess: our first house. That left us with only one vehicle and if I had to drive her dad's 94 Wrangler for another day I was going to :censor: someone.

Found this 06 on Autotrader. 1 owner, clean carfax, great shape. It was perfect except....those wheels! I hadn't even finished filling out paperwork yet and I had already placed a want ad for OEM stockers.

Other than that it's pretty awesome. I was daily driving my FJ60 after the 80 sold so the drive to work today was a pleasant surprise.

The plan:
OEM wheels
275/70/18 or 285/75/16 (depending on which wheels I find first)
Ditch the running boards
Ditch the exhaust tip :bang:
Flush the AHC
Enjoy.

Anyone want to buy some dubs? :hillbilly:

Someone spent a lot of $$ for those getto wheels. Otherwise, a fine looking LC.

Step one done. By my boss. I love my job.

Probably not always the case, but it seems a trend that the kind of peeps who bolt on useless stuff like that don't take good care of the important stuff like fluid changes, diff fluid changes, timing belt etc. preventative maintenance doesn't look sexy. Just a thought to consider when buying a vehicle with bling.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD while navigating gnarly trail. Typos are inherent.

That's a valid concern. This one had all its maintenance done at the dealer per the carfax so I'm too worried.

Nice LC, but you should probably replace those dubs with at least 24's, for safety.

That's a must. To maintain my street cred and what not.

Drove it 250 miles tonight to tow a friend's old Nissan hardbody off the side of the freeway. Good times. Drove like a caddy there and back.

Congratulations. I completely agree with the OP about not being too concerned in this specific instance as a Toyota dealer (or any mainline one for that manner) is not going to usually keep anything to schwaggy. While dealers make a major share of their profits off the preowned stuff, their reputation is at stake should it belch the tranny in the first month or whatnot.

I just sold my 80 and am moving into a 100 so, ya...I was eyeing that one too. That's the best color combination IMHO. I'm hoping to find an 06 without the AHC, cuz it's about $1000 to have taken out.

That's a good report! In all seriousness though, I have been seriously eyeballing the new tundra 20's... Me gusta.

The Platinum edition ones? I like them too but people want crazy money for them down here. A forged 20" wheel is way better than cheap cast ones.

Much better! Although if you really wanted it to look good you should've had them put those wheel weights on the inside of the rim :)

Those are there to distract from the horrible curb rash that the guy I bought the wheels from blamed his wife for. :bang:

I'm still speechless when I see truck rims wearing high profile tires with curb rash on them. I live in the city and parallel park DAILY. Even when I'm being careless, I still have a hard time scratching my rims...and that was on 22's! SMH :meh:

PS Nice choice in tires, but should have left the white lettering on the outside!

You should have seen the chunks taken out of the tires. :hillbilly:
