I am selling my brother's bike since for health reasons he won't ride it anymore. it is a 99 Yamaha Roadstar with only 9500 miles. It sat un-used in his garage for 2 years down in Laredo and it would not start. I brought it back with me and took it to Southern Metal Choppers and they cleaned the tank, carb, oil change, etc... it now runs like new.

So, for you experts out there, how much should I ask for it? Google search show prices to be from ~$3-$7K. A friend suggested that I ask $6K since it has very low mileage for a '99 and it is in great condition.

Thanks in adavance,
Luis

There is one on ebay with 44K miles, and a buy-it-now price of $3500.
I think your in the right ball park on $5-6k.

Don't wait until summer - right now is the perfict weather for selling a bike.

I'd start at $6K, and Mark is right about the perfect time of the year to be selling. I have a friend who totalled his bike when we were riding in the Big Bend area in December that may be interested. I can also publicize it on the Austin Motorcycle Riders Group that I belong to, as soon as you get the For Sale posting put together.

This will give you an idea of asking prices:
