I was wondering if I had to install heavier springs than the ones I already have (ome851, also have 10 mm trim packers) I wanted to install a arb bull bar, i actually want the non-winch one. does anyone know were I can purchase one real cheap including shipping and handling. anyone out there running this set up (springs) with a arb bumper?

Here's what Christo's site says in regard to bumpers and the 851 coil.

----->This is the kit that we install for trucks without any accessories bolted to them. The front springs is stiff enough to support the weight if a replacement front bumper, like the ARB, however with a winch installed, one should upgrade to the next heavier load system. <-------

As far as finding a non-winch "real cheap" dunno. If you find anyone selling ARB bumpers "real cheap" let us know. You might try posting something in the "wanted" section looking for someone wanting to upgrade from the non-winch to the winch.

there is a used ARB winch bar for sale in Seattle at Nix99 for $450, bet you can get it for less than that.

Oh, my buddies wife runs this set up on her 80's, she got my old 851's and has a ARB winch bar with no winch on it, been like this for 6+ years.

The weight of the winch versus non winch bumper (3211050 vs. 3411050) is nearly identical, the main weight difference occurs with the actual addition of the winch. You have to figure that a winch cna weigh beteween 80lbs (M8000) and 140lbs (M12000/15000).

Popular winch wieghts...
M8000: ~ 80lbs
XD9000: ~ 80lbs
XD9000i: ~ 95lbs
M12000: ~ 135lbs
M15000: ~ 140lbs
TI9.5: ~ 90lbs
TI16.5: ~140lbs

Nix wants like 300 bones to ship to CA... atleast that is what they said they have been quoted for the shipping... I wonder what their estimate would be for shipping it to the east coast...

If that's the case, you could get a new ARB Bullbar for about the same price...

I should take a pic of my cruisers nose-to-nose. The one with the ARB winch bumper (no winch) is actually a fraction of an inch higher (front hub center to wheel arch). Same trucks, same mileage on original suspension. My wife and I trade back and forth, don't notice any difference in driving. My brother (IdahoDoug) was driving it last week, he mentioned he didn't notice any more weight up there in driving it. So unless you're getting a winch, don't worry about it, you won't notice it.

Cheap enough that it will be in Atlanta this weekend.
