Hi there, Albuquerque Area Cruisers,
If you have nothing to do....and would like to come over and see the project car I inherited, I would love your opinion(s). A 1976 tan FJ40 sits in my driveway begging me to get the Transmission back in and drive it around. Has a newly rebuilt motor, and a fancy air conditioner, (not installed yet). I am way over my head in this so I thought I'd send out a blast request for advise. Callme at (505)710-7101 if you have a minute, cuz I know there's nobody with nothin to do! LOL!

mlelovesdirt (Emily) is friend of mine and asked for help on her husband's FJ40 project. I directed her here. Rob has MS and I believe is unable to work on the truck anymore. I had helped him with it a long time back. He also originally had the 70 series that I believe Jarred sold to Busey. Em, set a day or a few that work for you and let's see about helping doing a work party and getting this thing on the road.
sounds like it is all there and just needs some assembly. Em is a firefighter that I used to work with. great people!

Thanks Shawn,
I will attend the coffee this Saturday at the Daily Grind and see if anyone there is interested. As for a day or days, I am flexible and can make time whenever anyone is around. Thanks for the encouragement! Rob is working hard to get better and wants to help, though he can't. I'd really love to drive him around in it someday!

Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow. See you at the Daily Grind

I'm in, though I'm a crappy mechanic

Thanks Grant, Evan, Bob, Bob, Ali, Mike, and everybody else! You are such a great bunch of off-road enthusiasts I am sure Ill spend lots more time with everyone. Thank you for making me feel welcome. If anyone is around the North Valley, We are near Alameda and Rio Grande, and you can call me at 505-710-7101 if you'd like to stop by. We don't get many visitors and I'm sure it would make Rob's day! And mine too.

Emily, what's your schedule is like?
I'm gone this weekend, but SHOULD be around next. I can be free most any weekday evening with a little warning... Monday/Tuesdays are best.
Shawn, Evan, Ali, Terrell, etc can we get together to have a look at what needs to be done?
Looking forward to it

I ran into Em in Sportsmans yesterday and mentioned setting a day for us to come by. she is out of town this weekend anyway and I am too. she should be able to look at days next week sometime. I'll keep an eye out for it too and come by to help.

How about the Monday-Tuesday before Thanksgiving? I have to be in a Commander Class all next week :-( So I am talking about November 23 or 24th. Either day work for you? It feels great to think I may be able to get the project going again! Its been five years I'm guessing, since Rob started it. Thanks again!

I can get away from work a little early on either of those days. Not a lot early but early enough to take a look at it.

I should be able to also. Tuesday is better for me but can make either day work

I can make either day work from about 3PM on. I suppose we can talk about it tomorrow?

It looks like Tuesday late afternoon is shaping up. 3pm is fine with me, so say 3-5pm. ?
Just remember Alameda heading west gets packed by 5pm or just after. Lots of folks going home to Rio Rancho! I am sure some of you know that first hand! Thanks to all and see some of you then!
