I have an '06 LC. I'm considering buying a lift kit, more aggressive tires, and maybe doing some minor mods. Any suggestions on lifting an '06 keeping factory wheels? Don't want to go too big, just something to upgrade for some occasional off-road fun. Here's mine stock, show me some pictures of your 100 if you don't mind. And I did take off those window guards! Only mod so far. Thanks!

The most straight forward lift is to go OME coils (chosen for the weight you plan to carry) and possibly new T bars. Your stock wheels will work fine with anything. Probably the most often used tire size are the 285's.

Here is my '07.

Remove the running boards and it will instantly look 6" taller. Install OEM front mud guards to complete the look.

Biggest readily available lift for a 100 is 2.5" and is a great improvement for these trucks.

Old Man Emu (OME) and Iron Man both make kits, available from many vendors and several who frequent IH8MUD (Mud).

The rear is lifted via coil springs and appropriate length shocks.

The front is lifted by re-indexing the stock torsion bars (t-bars) or installing OME or Iron Man t-bars along with correct length shocks.

You may also want a front differential drop (diff drop) also available from Mud vendors...Slee Offroad comes to mind.

Off course, you can also add/utilize aftermarket upper control arms (UCAs), rear spring spacers (30mm are common) and/or a body lift.

The best bang for your buck, though, is a "kit" from one of the vendors.

Again, 2-2.5" is really the max without making some major/expensive modifications.

Yup and invest in some armor and your good to go!!! Sliders look better than Tupperware steps and will allow you the confidence in knowing your protected. Kind of like a jimmy hat there just in case you have a little too much fun haha:cheers:

Just bought my 04' some 865's, diff drop and spc ucas (all in the mail). I plan to re index stock torsion bars.

Should be a mellow 1.5-2". Hopefully I can post some pictures for you next week. I've also got Kelly Safari tsr's in 275 70 18 waiting at Goodyear.

Slee did mine OME 2" lift with diff drop and added Slee step sliders. He removed the AHC. Did a great job love the ride. I added after the lift the BFG AT/KO's 275/70/18. The visual effect of these mods compared to your stock LC is like seeing a guy 6'4" 250lbs standing next to a guy 6'0" 200lbs.

As phippsj noted, just ditching the running boards make a huge difference in how the truck looks. Cranking the torsion bars a bit, and ditching the minivan tires goes a long way to transforming the look of the 100.

I parked my '06 nose to nose with another one. Mine (on left) has only the above done...

What type and size are the tires you went with? That looks great!

The size is widely accepted as THE ideal size for the 100 - lifted or not: 275/70/18
The brand is one of 4 or 5 that are very popular and a constant source of debate: BFG ATs

LCVol, if you aren't familiar with the torsion bar, do a search it's a very cool set up. Basically, we have some free lift just waiting to be accessed. Don't let the write ups, discussions dissuade you from doing it yourself. I'd rank the technical difficulty between refilling the wiper fluid and changing floor mats. Seriously.

I was settling when i ordered up some Kelly TSR's in 275 70 18. I found what I really wanted online with free shipping. HOLY PRICE TAG @$320/ea!! But I've got 295 65 18 duratracs in the mail to complete my lift :) Looking like photos will come around new years. Merry xmas to me!

275's are too skinny for my taste. 285's are too short. and 295's are a couple tanks of gas and an oil change more expensive than the rest, but dammit I'm glad they are in the mail. Should look real good. Hope gas mileage doesn't suffer too much compared to my current setup. Thread jack over.

STOKED :)

OME coils, OME t-bars, Slee style home brew dif drop, 305/70-16s (currently on 285/75-16 which is same height but 1" skinnier). Pretty much perfect for most anything you'd want to do in a daily driven 100.
