Hey folks,

I am purchasing all the of items needed to do the brakes front and rear plus the bearing repack. What I don't have is space and ALL the necessary tools. This is something I KNOW I can do pretty easily but my garage is too low to use a jack/jack stands and too narrow to get in anything other than a bottle jack...which I don't have. :(

And for another kick in the nuts, our HOA has banned working on our own cars in our own freaking garages :bang:

So I am hoping someone out there has some room and some jack stands and such to help me do the brakes on this bad boy. I really don't want to pay someone XXXX dollars for something I should be able to do myself. Besides I NEED to know how to do this stuff. Help!:beer:

How do they know what you are doing if your garage is shut? Private property...

I say we do the brake job in the Coco's parking lot after the meeting. We can be like a pit team and see how fast we can do it....

I'm sure with a few club members we'd have more than enough experience to do it really fast. :)

My Dad has a cabinet shop in Sunland off the 5 fwy (sheldon st.) That is always open for stashing a truck for the weekend or doing a brake job. I will have to replace my rear pads soon so you're always welcome at my family's shop and we can take care of it in a day or a weekend if necessary. Let me know if you can't find another suitable place and we'll take care of it.

Uhhh... I think I can help with a spot. Live just east of USC. No garage though. Just a driveway behind an iron privacy gate with a dog as the night watch man. ;)

Aw thanks man. I actually already did up the brakes and was actually able to do them my self, cept for turning the rotors. It was a whole lot easier than I thought it was going to be. :D

He's lying. He doesn't know how to take the wheels off.

Not true! I welded a socket to each lug nut, then attached the ratchet, then tied a rope to the handle and tied it off to the foundation of the house...and just backup up the truck slowly. Works like a charm. Takes a long time...and I go through a lot of sockets... :flipoff2:

:eek:I don't EVEN want to know how you go about removing ENGINES!

Maybe we should videotape it!
