The only purpose this serves is to cut off the compressor if engine Temps rise past 226 correct ? Okay to bypass this?
Don't know, never tried it. Give it a shot and report back. It would be interesting to know.

Thanks for volunteering.

Bypassed at the engine cool temp cut relay and everything is working well. Must have lost the water temp switch over the winter because ac worked fine last fall. Did do quite a few engine maintenance items so may have lost a ground on the switch

Reviving an old one, those that had the water temp switch fail what were your symptoms? Mine blows cold when I'm sitting still and or when the ambient temp is cool. If it's hot and I'm doing highway speeds, I can hear something under the dash click and the compressor shuts off. Couple minutes later it will click on again and just cycle like this until I shut it off
