need help

I am in need of a wiring diagram for a FJ40. I need to know where all my wires go!! I guess this is what happens when it take 8 months to put the engine back together. I can not remember where all the wires go. Please help if you can. Thanks,

Even the Haynes and Chilton manuals have wiring diagrams. If you tell us the year of your truck someone may even post up a picture of one that could help you.

I have the manuals. I am not getting any power to my guage cluster? I don't wont to keep trying to figure this thing out. I do not like electrical things. I have been working on my Cruiser for over a year now and I am not going to just hook it up and something go wrong and it burns up! I wish my mind could just remember where things go. Yes I now I need help.

If you need help with "all" the wiring I'd suggest just taking it one wire at a time...Look at the wiring diagrams in your books and start with one section of wiring then go to the next....

Short of coming to your house thats about all the help you can get unless you specify which wire or object you're trying to figure out...If you get stumped, post a pic with a specific question....

I am getting power to the starter from the betterie. But nothing form there. I am looking to get power to the steering column. And to the gauge cluster. I have a MSD Off-Road Ignition box system. Not getting any power to that eather. I guess I have to wait intill next week, when Patrick Wilson : 4x4customs.com : Will be able to come to the farm to take a look at my Cruiser.

Check your iginition switch. There should be a 4 prong connector towards the bottom of your steering column cover at the dash.


Make sure you are getting power to the switch.

It very well could be something as simple as a ground.

Thats what I am thinking, it a ground problem I hope. I just dont have the greatest amount of pashents. I do not like electrical things.

Get at 12v test light and start poking around.

I have poked everything I can poke ! ! I have great tools thanks to the Snap-On man. I could have bought 12 Cruisers for what I have in tools, I should have bought the Cruisers !

Is your engine grounded to the frame.

Is your body grounded to the frame.

Is the body grounded to the engine.

Clean all grounding contact areas.

I will look to see tonight if all the grounds are done right. the MSD might me missing with me.
