Can only speculate. It has never overheated under our ownership and the person we bought it from did a good job keeping up with maintenance. We had not done a coolant flush on it so maybe it was really old coolant become acidic and eating away at the gasket? Hard to say. Regular coolant swaps will be a thing for us moving forward!Whoa!
Any idea the cause?
I agree regular coolant flushes are necessary for these engines (really all vehicles). I am doing them about every 45K.Can only speculate.
