Hey you Phoenix peeps! I'm relatively new still to the Phoenix area and haven't really had the chance to find out what restaurants are good and which ones to avoid. I've got a date planned this Wednesday evening and she wants seafood. Anyone know of a good seafood restaurant in the East Valley, including Scottsdale, that isn't overpriced? I'm willing to pay for good food and service, I just don't want to pay for bad stuff. Any input? Thanks!

101 & 202. Bass Pro Shops..:hillbilly:

Seriously, only had horse'dervies there but they were mighty fine.;)

San Carlos Bay Seafood Restaurant - MMmn good

Its like being in Mexico and the location is like being in Mexico but good food. If you are trying to impress and spend money not a good place.

The bonus - behind the restaurant in the alley is rated some of the best graffiti work in Phoenix

If you want to spend money Salt Cellar is great - make sure you have reservations

San Carlos Bay Seafood Restaurant - Phoenix, AZ

This place is mostly Italian, but has a great daily fresh fish menu every time we go there...worth it, plus they have a shuttle to your area!

LOL!

Salt Cellar was recommended to me as well from friends at work, but man, those prices!

I think I'm going to ask her if she is set of seafood. I want to impress her, but not with my not so deep pockets, ya know? I know of this little Thai Food restaurant that is good and has a good atmosphere, so I may suggest that. Thanks for the input!

Man, even more suggestions for Salt Cellar... I'm going to have to make it there eventually!

SALT CELLAR Back when I worked for a living any out of state or country customers who visited were taken to the SALT Cellar 4lb to 10 lb lobsters stuffed with fresh scallops buckets of steamed clams or mussels.
Company Credit Card made it perfect to make the lady's in accounting cry loved to make them cry. Now
I only go maybe twice a year to take my sisters on their birthdays figure about $100 per person + drinks
O YES my sisters are big

I hear you John. Back when I was in liquor sales we would take our clients to the Salt Cellar and expense it as well. I remember we took the Arizona liquor chain buyer who worked for a large national pharmaceutical retailer there once; only to have him order the biggest lobster in the tank. He then proceeded to eat maybe a quarter of it, and demanded we leave and fund his night at Christie's Cabaret in the VIP section. What a Jackhole this guy was. Mind you this buyer also had a prepaid trip to Superbowl XXXIII in New Orleans on a local beer distributor's dime, for himself and his wife. The trip included limo to and from airport, airfare, limo to and from hotel, 2 nights hotel, limo to and from game, game tickets, and $500 spending cash. He didn't even have the common courtesy to inform the distributorship in advance that he wasn't going to take them up on this. As the story goes the limo showed at his house to pick him and his wife up for the ride to Sky Harbor and he told the driver nevermind he wasn't going to go.

Wildfish in Old Town, check out their summer happy hour specials in the bar. Good people watching too. Roaring fork is another option that has some seafood AND summer happy hour specials ie CHEEP.

When I worked at the Embassy Suites at 24th St and Camelback while going to ASU, much of the staff would go over to the bar and order food and drinks. It was always very good food - been back a few times but not lately.

I'm due!

2 others I have enjoyed:

The Fish Market on Camelback and the 51 freeway and Pappadeaux's Seafood kitchen at Cactus and the I-17.Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Both are worthy in my opinion

Man... all kinds of good suggestions. Thanks again everyone! I still have 24 hours to figure it out... so wish me luck.

Don't feel bad, Jesse turns 13 this Saturday, she wants shrimp from Chuy's, but some members of the family are thinking more formal. We love Chuy's!
