Need Help... Lift increases rake???

[18LC]

Just had my '18 LC lifted with:
Dobinson lift (1.0" - 2.5")
TRD Rock Warrior 17" wheels
Yokohama Geolandar A/T 295/70R17

Thought for sure the lift would level out the standard LC rake. Even talked through that with the shop when we were considering just a leveling kit. When I pick up the truck, it's sitting even higher in the rear than before...

Pre-Lift (measured at the center of the wheel well opening):
Front 34"
Rear 35"
Rake 1"

Post-Lift
Front 37.5"
Rear 39.5"
Rake 2"

The shop says that the rear is sitting so high because of the thicker springs and the only way to level it out is to back to the stock springs.

Is this common where rake is increased with a lift?

Any other suggestions to level front/rear?

Does that kit have an adjust table coilover perch in the front? Are these springs for constant loads (heavy springs), and do you have any added weight on the vehicle?

That seems like a lot of lift.

I’d double check to make sure the rear springs (actually the bump stops inside the spring) are in the upper centering part on the frame, and that they are rotated correctly so the bottom end sits in the mount on the axle in the right orientation.

Did you/they torque bolts with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension?

Have you driven it at all to settle everything in?

Since you measured from the ground, do those measurements include the almost 1” F/R you gained with the tires?

Yes, total lift in the rear is 4.5". That does include the additional ~1.5" rise due to the larger 33.3" tires.

Not sure on the adjustable perch. I'll check.

No added weight or constant heavy load. Very rarely, I will trailer my 24' boat. So, I don't want to compromise my towing capacity too much. But, the boat is in a marina and I don't even own a trailer. So, that will be a rare need. And, I will not be adding any other weight to the vehicle. Thanks

Yeah most people will measure from the center of the rim to negate the tire increase.
What are your spring rating?
Most company’s have a
stock height
2” lift 0-150#
2” lift 150/600#
and then goes up from there.
Sounds like the spring rate in the rear is too high?
Unless you have drawers and bull bar and roof top tent…prob go with the 0-150#

Just completed the work on Friday. No long drives yet to settle in at this point. How much settling can be expected on a lift like this?

I'll go through these points with the shop. Thanks for your suggestions! The shop is a Toyota specialty shop. They are not necessarily lift specialists. But, hopefully they know their way around the LC to know these things. This mural is on their wall...
