Received what seems to be a ridiculous estimate for rear brakes rotors, and calipers today. Does anyone have a good contact in Columbus Ohio who might be able to give us another estimate?

And calipers? Easy diy? We were told they needed replaced also.brakes are a very easy DIY, if you like saving money, learning this skill is well worth it. All the info you could ever want is found on youtube
It’s my son’s cruiser. He lives DT by arena. Shop was in Bexley. Rear rotors, pads and calipers were over $1000! They said calipers were “over extended.” Not sure if that is nice way to say worn out or what? I will share those options with him. Thank you so much. What part of town are you in and who gave you the original quote?
If you're not letting the job snowball into the parking brake, the rear is super easy compared to the front (did both last weekend). You will need bleed the rear brakes if you swap calipers but that's about all the extra work involved with that. Any reason to believe you actually need calipers?
edit.. based on your signature, the 100 probably lives close to OSU campus. All Hours Auto Repair is just outside of campus and has good reviews, I've know people who were happy with their work. Not Toyota specialists, but seems to be a good shop. A little further off campus (but still close), Fishinger & Mountview Auto Repair has been around forever and is always packed.
