I have an armored 2011 LC200 with limited access to reliable technicians. My AC unit no matter what button is pressed on or off doesnt shut the outside air out. I think the vent is stuck in the open position and I would like to manually close it and set it always to recirculate air inside the cabin. I would like somebody to point me in the right direction inside the engine bay. its a 4.7liter regular gas 36 gallon version.

Thanks so much for your help.

jcmiro - do you know which company armored it? and where is your location? (Right now I'm in Qatar, tomorrow UAE, next week is Bahrain, then Kurdistand for a few days then should be in Liyba or Iraq - not 100% confirmed yet)

if you would like tomorrow I can send you pics of the firewall w/o dashboard and also pics of the dashboard removed so you will know where all the parts are located.

The reason I asked who did the armor - i have seen some companies take short cuts and remove parts from inside the dashboard to make the armoring easier.

Thanks for your reply. Im located in South America, so reliability of the armoring company is close to 0. I would absolutely love pics of the dash and firewall. With this I can go and see if they did a decent job. To reduce bandwith use just send the pictures to my email

Ok, I think I have found the culprit...The black plastic insert between the windshield and the hood was removed to inspect the intake. Now what goes here? Can you imagine....They just rip stuff out and leave me with an opening like that. Something was attached to those holes. It rarely rains in where I live so its liveable but the exhaust and fumes not so much....
Im also curious what the recirculate and particle filter buttons due on the HVAC controls if this intake is just open to the world. I tried duct taping it shut and no air would come out of the vents on full blast' fan....I guess its all marketing.
