I found a rear 9.5" third member off of a 100 series wit 4:30 gears and an e-locker for a fair price I am thinking of getting but I need to know if it is compatable with my fj60/62 axle. I would be putting my stock 4.11 gears back on it and installing it in my fj62 axle, not sure front or rear yet.

Will my fj62 R&P bolt right up to the 100 series third member and housing?

Will I need to notch the fj62 housing for the e-locker? and possibley drill neew alignment stud holes like when you put an e-locker from a 1990's pickup into a non e-locker rear end pickup axle.

If anyone can help me out and let me know if it can be done or possible places to look for more info I would really appreciate it.

I'm not expert on 62 axles...but AFAIK you'll need the diff carrier, hat and side gears out of an 80 to adapt the 32-spline 100 parts over to 60/62/80 30-spline (not sure if these parts are compatible from your 62 diff or not). Yes you'll have to notch the diff housing. You'll need two longer studs for the diff housing where the e-locker housing sits.

And you'll have to redrill the 100-Series pinion flange for the 62-Series drive shaft pattern.

Might want to PM cruiserdrew...
