FJ tanks are the same, you will need the pickup from your tank though.

I think the gasser has a return line.

Yes. The gasser has two lines coming out the tank, as does the 12HT and 13BT. The 3B and 2H are single line.

As Charles says, any FJ/HJ/BJ 6* tank will do...Just change the pickup if required.

Good to know, even though it doesn't answer my semi-hijack question... So why would you have to change out the pickup? Just if it's gone bad, or is there some kind of difference between them?

Or am I confused about what a "pickup" is?

The pickup is the round assembly that bolts to the top side, corner of the tank, and has the pickup tube/screen on the tank side, and fuel supply and/or return connections on the outside. The outside of the pickup either has two tubes (one supply and one return), or one tube (supply). I suppose you could leave the FJ two tube unit in, and plug the return tube...but you better be sure the plug will not come off, allowing moisture into the tank. It is held in place by 5 or 6 small philips screws. If they are rusted, they can be a bear to change out.

Why does the 12HT and 13BT need a second line?

The second line is the return line. It brings excess fuel back to the tank. Dunno why 3Bs don't have one. My Mercedes does, so I'll be just fine with my FJ60 tank... :)

Thanks, I never knew that diesel's had a return line.
I learn something new everyday.

Cheers,
Nick

The plug can also come off and then you could be in trouble with authorities if you start leaving a trail of diesel wherever you go, not to mention the cost of all that lost fuel. I'd just swap the pickup, safer and more secure. I got mine off last year when I patched my tank (new (used) tank is going in with the new (used) frame in a month or two).
