I just drove my new (to me) 2008 GX470 (85,000 miles) down to Palm Springs from San Jose and on the way down noticed a shake while freeway braking. Saw on another forum referred to as “infamous brake shake”.
I’d like to get it taken care of while I’m here before heading back home next week. Anyone have a recommendation for a local Palm Springs/Cathedral City Brake shop, and are there certain parts I should request or avoid?
Thanks for your help

What’s the infamous brake shake? Warped rotors? Or seized calipers? or something else?

Yes, it seems lots of cases of warped rotors, this is the thread that gave me the brake shake name:
But it seems like maybe brakes/rotors is a weakness in these rigs? I had a friend recommend a tundra swap. Has anyone done this?

Not saying the rotors are not warped but sometimes its just a buildup of pad material on the rotors that causes people to think their rotors are warped. Look up some youtube videos on bedding in brake pads..... its basically a series of braking manuvers from different speeds with brake cooling times in between.... I did this to mine and everything smoothed right out

Awesome! I’ll try that before the drive home. I also decided to just kinda baby it the couple hundred miles home and then if I need to do a replacement I can do it with the parts I want.
