Got my 97 LC back Friday from performance, who installed my 6" lift from Slee and the 35" Nitto trail grappler MT, the first day Was amazing, and it seems as if it is ridding better than B4 I dropped it off last Tuesday, but yesterday (Sat) I started to notice a little noise, that is now hard to miss, it sounds like a grinding, and only happens when I am decelerating from speeds above 20 miles an hour, and as soon as I put my foot back on the accelerator and give it gas it stops, at first I was thinking hubs, but I have very Lil experience anyone have any ideas/ solutions for me?

First, you're going to have to post pics or it didn't happen...especially of the 35" trail grapplers.

Did you buy the kit new from Slee? If so, was it the full kit with the DC driveshaft and all the adjustable arms? If yes, then you need to make sure you have the rear upper control arms adjusted correctly. If no, then you will probably need to look at the angles of the front u-joints first. you can pull the driveshafts one at a time and drive with the center diff locked to determine which end is making the noise. Post some pics and more details too.

Camera is dead I'll charge it tonight and try and get the pics on, yes, bout the full kit with the DC front shaft, and the adjustable rear arms, from where I'm sitting in the cab, and when I open my door def sounds like front end, but not 100 % sure on that

There are several good threads in the 80 series forum about measuring u-joint angles, you basically want your pinion angles to be straight with the dc shaft in the front, the angles in the rear should be equal.

Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts - Driveline 101

If you can't figure it out I would remove the front shaft first, lock the cdl, drive around in rear wheel drive and see if the noise is still there. make sure the u-joints are greased on that too.

I would do that but don't have the CDL switch installed yet, I'm gonna take it back to the shop that installed it and see what they say

I am pretty sure you can put it in 4-low and then pull the center diff fuse to keep it locked in high range. Taking it to the shop is not a bad idea, you could also call Slee and see what they say about it.

Oh they gonna say "we're idiots and you let us do it". Kidding, but not really...
I can't believe you had them install a lift on a type rig they've never seen. How much did they charge on labor?
Ya'll should've come over this weekend and possibly diagnosed the issue.
Those "Big Stupid Truck" shops can't help you past a certain point, and I know PTC VERY well, they're better than most but...

Lol, I used our dealerships name so my labor cost on the lift install including mount and balance on the tires was $675!

If they don't know I may have to do that, although I did meet a fellow toyota off road enthusiast! He drives an 08 lifted pre runner said he knew ya

Damn. 675? That is alot to me. But I do get it, some don't like to mess with that kind of stuff.

Yeah, Kurt.

Na I love messing with that kind of stuff, but had to make mom happy, I know makes me a bit of a mommas boy, but hey she payed for 1/2 the lift and the install, so I'm not gonna complain!

Ok so about to go pick up my rig from performance, they are saying that the lift is installed according to Slee's specifications and that everything they had done was done correctly, and that it could be my rearend or my u-joint, I'm gonna drive it and let y'all know what I think, although from the moment I brought it in they started suggesting rear end makes me wanna get it on a lift in neutral and spin the tires and see where the noise is comeing from!!!

I'm not going to say I told you so, but I can help you try to diagnose it at some point.

I can let you borrow my CDL switch as well... it won't be pretty, but it'll get you by for now, (different dash)
drop the front DS and then drop the rear... isolate from front to rear.
