Need a piece of scrap steel tube

Anybody have a piece of scrap tube laying around that they wouldn't mind giving up? Over the years of wheelin', I've gradually worn down the protective ring around my rear diff drain plug to the point that even my low-profile drain plug is getting spun out when I drag the rear over a rock. So the plan is to take a small piece of scrap tube and weld it around the drain plug. Here's what I need:

The tube has to have an ID of about 1.5" and as thick of a wall as possible. I only need a very small (3/4") piece.

Anybody out there that can hook a brotha up?

i have some 3/16 and 1/4 plate we can cut you of a piece 4-6 inches long, then drill a 1.5 inch hole in it and then you can weld that on and use it as a nice lip/ridge. we can even do a couple layers if you need it thicker.

I've got plenty of scraps that would fit the bill. I have both 1.75/.120" and 1.5/.120" tubing pieces laying around as well some 3/8" and 1/4" plate.

Should be able to hook you up one way or another...

Jerry, if I could trouble you for about a 3/4" slice of each tube, that'd be awesome. Just let me know when would be a good time to stop by and I'll come over and pick it up. Also let me know what kinda beer ya like and I'll bring some in trade.

No prob. I've no plans for the week, so any time you're free, give me a buzz. I'm still playing with my FJC to see if I can get it right so that's my current focus.

Surprise me, most any IPA will do fine...
