Could someone that has a 93-94 FZJ80 get a picture for me please. I need a picture of the throttle cable linkage where it hooks up by the other linkages. Trying to figure something out here with my 80 - versus the manual.

Thanks.

not sure what you are looking for but, here are a few.

The second pic is exactly what i am looking for here, but mine has the red piece where your black piece is at.

Give me a second here and i will take a shot of what i am looking at here on mine.

just a random thought.... i think pressing the brakes will cause the torque convertor to unlock while going down the road. then releasing them at speed should allow the TC to lock back up. maybe the brake switch needs adjusted.

page AT-60 in the manual shows the adjustment. let me know if you need the page.

See the pic on AT-26 , where it shows and says the stopper should be inside the red boot.

Is that what you are seeing / reading on it also ?

Looked on the other page and might have to try it that way after, just do not want to tighten it too tight, but might just have to play with it.

So, this is the first auto i have owned here, so help me out a bit further.

Going down the road accelerating normally, not trying to get there in a hurry, this thing shifts from 2nd into third and right into OD. Just a very slight bit of time between, like maybe a half to full second.

Seem too fast to anyone out there ?

Think i am going to try doing the part on pg AT-60 first brfore i go about adjusting this thing that far. I know cables can stretch and we have no earthly clue what was done before with this thing.

never really paid alot to the time between gear changes. I will test mine out in the morning.

I never drive this thing, but we had it out today, and it was doing this stuff. Asked wife, and she said it has been doing it the whole time.

Still like my old school stuff, like shifting completely by hand.

we got it all togeather but it wont start. just blows alot of gas out of the exhaust. I pulled the head off and the carb. I feel a little pull when i place my thumb over the piston and turn the motor, but it seems kind of weak, but i don't know what it should feel like. carb has some green junk in it and the crank had some fuel in it as well. i will clean it all up and put the engine back togeather and see what happens next.

so, from a stop, in no hurry to get anywhere, and after a 1/2 dozen tries. 2nd gear shift is about 10-15 mph, 3rd gear shift is about 22-27mph followed by overdrive around 30-40mph, almost instantly followed by lockup. if you are heavy on the gas in 2nd gear and let up, above 30MPH it will shift to 3rd then OD and lockup pretty quick. but with normal driving it seems to shift through the gears in a stepped manor, lockup hits right after OD so it almost seems like one shift, you can just see the tach step through OD and lockup.

p.s. keep in mind i am running 315's with factory gears.
