Hey all,
I am working in Houston TX this summer and my temp. housing (apt) doesn't lend itself to working on the the cruiser. I am looking for a location to do a bit of work. I need to try and trouble shoot a CEL on the VSV/EGR (71 IIRC) and change the oil at some point. I have no experience with the VSV/EGR so that will be a learning experience for me.

I don't have reliable internet access and can only get to Mud at cafes and the like so I am on the board irregularly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ross

Ross,

Look up Jim Reiss. (Elmariachi). He's on this forum a lot, knows quite a bit about cruisers, and lives in Houston.

I had a port in the intake stopped up completely with carbon, and cleaned it out real good before hot vatting it at a machine shop. Also the rear exhaust manifold has a port that could be problematic.

Good Luck!

My wife is still recovering from neurosurgery, but as long as we don't have to ask her for help ( :) ) my garage is open to you.

I am in the extreme Northwest - Hwy 290 and 1960 area. Jim is in the same area, a few miles straight north of me.

There are a few others scattered around. Tell us where you are staying...

Tarbe, I'm not to far from you guys. I am slumming it a bit north of the Greenspoint area (Kuykendahl & Ella). Any help would be appreciated and I promise not to put your wife to work. Recuperation from any surgery is a tough road, nuero must be some of the worst.

I also look forward to meeting some Lone Star State cruisers this summer as well. I'll check back sometime in the next day or so (need to find internet access).

Ross
