I changed the oil in my rear diff just ove 4K miles ago, and when I drained it today (opted to pull out the axle shafts instead of destroying my backing plates for the RDB job), the oil was all black and gross. I looked at everything I could in the diff and axle, but couldn't find anything wrong. Sure looks like something's wearing way faster than it should be though, and I don't like that one bit. Any thoughts on what could be wearing fast enough to make my oil all nasty so quick? Going from a bright clear/gold color to grey-ish black in such a short amount of time gets me a bit worried.
In other news, I think I've figured out how to rig the ebrake cable and I'm going to go ahead and remove the LSPV and install the Wilwood prop. valve. I had originally planned to retain the LSPV, but since I'll be removing it when I eventually lift the truck, I decided to just go ahead and do it while I've got the brake lines all opened up.
