NAPA 1515 filter = 8 qt capacity? (1 Viewer)

I changed the oil in the LX450 using the Napa 1515 and Mobil 1 0W-40. It took 8 qts to fill to the full mark on the stick, when it was hot. Now when I check with the engine stone cold, it's over full some. Is this because the filter is draining back into the pan, and should I not worry about it?

with the engine at operating temprature shut down and wait a few minutes, then check the level, I cheack mine directly after filling the tank, it is a convienent simi-consistant time that meets the requirements
