This seems like a silly question, but my googling has failed me.

I'm trying to find an OEM bolt that holds down the front passenger seat to the floor (the 4 mounting bolts). Everything keeps coming back for seat belt bolts. PO put a bolt in from Home Depot that doesn't quite thread correctly and I'm willing to make an investment in the OEM bolt.

Does anyone know that name or even better a part number? I have a 2001 if it matters.

Thanks

I know this is an old thread but I recently pulled the one of the bolts from the driver side front seat to run a cable under the track. Well now I can't get the bolt back in. It's like the threads are messed up but the bolt itself looks fine. I don't want to tighten it too much though because I don't want to cross-thread the hole in the floor. What are my options? Can I get a tap thats the right thread and attempt to "correct" the hole?

I've screwed up more than one of my seat hold down bolts. Pull the seat out and run a tap through. Depending on the hole it might be accessible from under the vehicle. which might give you some better threads to start the tap.

Something like this right? If I recall I had to do this on one of my 4Runner hard top bolt holes because the threads were messed up. I think I just started threading it through since the top have of the threads were good and then it corrected the remaining threads when it went in? That was 10 years ago though....

sounds like you got it

I had to do this recently. Replacement bolts from Toyota parts sites were not the right size. Make sure you buy the die though. More common to have a bolt problem. I think it’s because if your seat isn’t positioned just right the bolt threads will gall against them (as opposed to a cross threading issue or similar with the bolt hole itself). Amazon has what you need.

Happy to say the Irwin Tools 10x1.25 tap worked fine. I used the one I found locally from Ace Hardware. Took about 10 minutes and I just used a box-end wrench after hand threading it a few turns. Backed out and kept working my way down until the bolt went in smoothly and snugged right up. Thanks for the help!
