Seems people have it in their minds that disconnecting the Tundra battery will improve gas mielage buy resetting ecu? Smeels like cheeese to me what does it smell like to yall? CHEESE!! I know it's a big BAT and it is supposed to burn gas but like i said seems some think that this improves their mielage MYTH OR NO MYTH!! :D

Saves on gas cause the truck wont start! :)

tundra uses adaptive memory. means it adjusts to the way you drive. it will learn if you drive like a grandma, and use less fuel, and if you drive like a racer, it will deploy more fuel.
resetting the ECU means it will change back to the factory settings.
if you drive like a racer, then disconnect it, and continue to drive like a racer, it will not be running like it did when it remembered, untill later when all aplicable parameters and tests run, before it will relearn.

but whats the use of driving like a racer, if you are trying to save gas.

leave the battery connected, the myth is cheese. just drive it easy. and keep your tires inflaed to factory specs

The idea is you reset the ECU. Once it's reset, start driving like a grandma, and it is supposed to adapt quicker which means better gas mileage.

You won't be getting good gas mileage while the ECU is learning. And I imagine if you drive like a grandma long enough, the ECU will adapt naturally.

sounds like a case for these guys

you should also replace the tailgate with a Net..
and pull out your spare tire,
and always have your windows up, but never run your A/C :D

Gas savings are insignificant i bet!

Adam and Jamie are the Sh**t!

love that show.

They should do a show on the Toyota truck and how it really is indestructible.

Ehhh I watched that episode where they tried to judge mpg based on how much gas goes into the engine. The whole time I watch it saying jeeze whos monitoring the excess thats going back since the cars your testing are clearly fuel injected. To lazy to register on their boards and complain though....
