As I go through my rig and catch up on some overdue maintenance, I found a green-lit switch next to the rear fog light switch and wasn’t sure what it was for. Following some advice here, I pulled it out to trace the wiring and discovered that it's not connected to anything—there’s just an unplugged port sitting behind it.

I did some digging using my VIN and found that it might be for the headlight washer system. But I don’t see any nozzles on the headlights, so maybe it was deleted by the previous owner? Or is this port meant for something else?

Since this switch is next to the rear fog light switch, could it possibly be for the front fog lights? I honestly have no idea how to turn the front fog lights on otherwise…

Appreciate any input!

That cover is where the headlight washer switch would be found - if your vehicle had one. The connector may be for the washer switch and is just unused. The green light was likely an owner installed indicator for some 3rd party device, maybe lighting?

The green light isn’t connected to anything, there was no wires behind the switch. I was planning to replace it with a headlight washer switch, but later realized the washer system had been removed... here is my real question... how can I turn the front fog light on...

Whats the spec of your 80, I'm assuming some kind of Euro LHD one? Very unlikely that it had headlight cleaners or fog lights from factory to begin with. Headlight cleaners were typical for UK spec (RHD) and the factory fog lights (using part of the headlight) I've only seen on some JDM versions but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you are 100% right. It's Euro LHD specs from Denmark. It might be just an unplugged port, just like the CDL port, it was there but not plugged.

By lloking at your profile pic, I think I have the same one that you have lol

Oh cool! Mine's from Denmark too... as for the plug, very likely that all of them have the wiring but very few actually have the headlight cleaners.

Does yours have a hole like that?

The front fog light button is the button you are describing. I have the headlight washer system and the button for that is next to the fog light switch. The hole below is for the hand throttle (can adjust idle speed in cold/cooler temps).
