Hey guys,
So I’m at a loss for what this plug is supposed to be attached to, or why it’s not? Or what the wire thing attached to it is??
Comes out by the EGR…
Help!

Is it 94 or earlier? Could be a bypass of EGR system to stop from throwing egr codes.

Looks like EGR temp sensor connector...if you have a 93-94. If so, could be a homemade bypass, or just cut. If it's just cut, you should have codes, even with OBD1.

Here's what it would look like, sensor end screws into the side of the EGR facing the passenger side.

...or it could be a resistor, installed to bypass the EGR. There is a thread about that on this forum:

...or this really very good analysis (leave it to a mechanical engineer!):

I would be more worried about that heater valve and associated original hoses! Looks like a egr temp sensor crimped together weird you don’t have a Check engine code.

It is a 94, and the EGR was deleted before I bought it, so that must be what it is… Just trying to get familiar with other peoples fixes.
Thanks everyone!

FWIW, when you get around to replacing the heater hoses, you'll find a couple are no longer available. Use the formed 100 series heater hoses and cut ctraight pieces out of them. They're the same size and material.

I’m sure this will come in super handy- thank you! Any tricks on the air hose from the silencer to Pair system? I know I need one of those … currently has a nice tape job

Do you mean this one:

Sorry, I can't help you there. If you find a solution, let me know.

I'd ask Dave Stedman at Japan4x4. If the hose is truly delisted, he may be able to find a replacement.

I came across a thread somewhere here that a Tacoma hose is similarly formed, just can’t remember year. I’ll see if I wrote it down somewhere.
