Hello all, long time lurker of the forum but picked up a LX570 for the wife a few weeks back and am extremely impressed with it thus far. While driving it today I started to notice a faint cricket sound coming from what seems to be near the shifter/center dash area, although it doesn’t seem to be the dash itself but rather something drivetrain/engine related. It does not increase with RPM but does start around 45 mph and get slightly louder at highway speeds. I tried turning off the HVAC as that was my initial thought since it sounds somewhat similar to a blower fan on its way out, but I’m not quite sure. My wife thinks I’m insane but I can definitely hear something going on, especially at 60+. Truck drives flawlessly overall though. Anyone experience anything of the sort? I know this is a needle in the haystack situation but I’ve tried to eliminate all obvious possibilities.

to me a cricket noise is an on again off again chirping. but if you hear a blower i would turn the cool box on and off again and see if that's what's causing the noise from that location.

It’s a steady rhythmic chirp is the best way I can describe it. Definitely not the cool box as it currently doesn’t work

Going out on a limb here, but check the guards around the catalytic converters. The guards are prone to rust, and can make some funny sounds if they are loose. They can be replaced or you can just put a stainless steel worm clamp around them, if that's the offending part.

I’ll crawl under it tomorrow and take a look. Thanks for the suggestion

Long shot - I'm not a radio guy so I hear every noise any vehicle produces. I have two 200's and had the windows on both tinted. Proper installation of the tint required popping off the small plastic triangle in the front corner of the driver/passenger windows at the A-pillar. I think that popping them off and back on loosens them just enough that they now (occasionally) produce a very, very faint squeak (could be described as cricket sounding). When I hear it, I apply even a tiny amount of pressure to the triangle and it stops.
For the longest time I thought it was the A-pillar speaker vibrating but it is definitely the small plastic triangle piece. One day I will remove them and place a dab of goop in the snap to move the slight vibration....

I can give it a shot, but my noise is almost certainly coming from somewhere in the center console/radio area. Worth a try though

Crawled under the truck and didn’t see anything touching or rubbing the cats. Still at a loss as to what it is. I’m starting to think U-joints but not certain
