Everyone, thank you for your input! I took the suggestions and the mech. tried plugging the HAC system... and it solved the problem! I have put over 100 miles on it since he did that, and haven't had an issue. I even re-plugged it back together and the problem returned!
Also, while testing, he found that the EGR was stuck open.. who knows for how long (another reason to NOT belive the dealer mechanics).. so I'm replacing that.
So a HUGE RELIEF to get this problem solved.
