My white 2025 LX700h (9 Viewers)

Shadowfax being one of the mereras, the Lord of Horses in Tolkien's classic "Lord of the Rings" series, it seemed fitting that a quick, powerful, comfortable, and reasonably (artificially) intelligent mode of transportation that also happens to be white, share the name.

This thread will document adventures, modifications, and random observations with my 2025 Lx700h.

Today was the inaugural off-road experience with Shadowfax, and performance was exceptional. Between the LX and my wife's GX, we hauled 11 people in perfect comfort all over my 1200 acre hunting lease, playing in creeks and navigating trails rutted out by significant rains over the past 2 months. Lockers and Offroad cruise control worked perfectly, and the ol' chin that everyone complains about in the abstract was not even touched. Moderate speeds (15-25mph) in rough terrain was comfortable and controlled, and crawling through harder and steeper spots was a breeze.

The tires were quite surprising. I expected them to gum up, but they cleared mud well, and maintained good traction as well as quiet comfiness on the road before and after.

I also towed my atv for more fun for my brother, and the 1500lb trailer was not noticeable behind the LX700h except for reduced gas mileage at 14-15mpg.

Good times. Grateful for such a wonderful vehicle to use and enjoy.

Quibbles:
-The gas tank. My bladder likes to stop every 2-3 hours, so the 250-300 miles of range really isn't a problem, but frequent fill ups are frustrating.
-gas mileage. First 800 miles saw 13-15mpg. Now at 1200 I'm finally starting to see 20 on the highway, but my lx600 saw 22-23 highway. Hopefully as the break in period continues, I'll realize the predicted extra mile per gallon.

That's it. Everything else about the vehicle is an improvement over the 2022 LX600.

I am not too familiar with Lord of the Rings, but I am sure happy the ol'chin did well. I am more and more impressed with the ground clearance the AHC gives you to compensate for that.

Talk to us about the running boards. Also good?

I am with you as to the gas tank. Yes, should be bigger but I would probably still stop every 3 to 4 hours. The catch is when you are off-roading in the bushes. A bigger tank would give us more peace of mind for that.

Running boards did not pose a problem, except as catch points for mud that is more than a little difficult to clean out.

Replaced the factory cross bars (rated at ~30kg/per bar, and were loose to mere human arm strength despite adequate tightening) with Thule's evo blades, rated at 75kg per bar. I've got these on my wife's GX and they handle the iKamper 3.0 and 3 adults sleeping inside without a second thought.

Didn't want to do the dissent rack due to size, appearance, lots of squeaks with a previous prinsu racked rig and the iKamper (and none with the Thule rack in the GX), and these were $800 and took 20-30 minutes to install (compared with dissents a few hours, 3-6month wait, and $2000).

Pros:
-less wind noise than the factory cross bars
-easy to install
-vehicle remains relatively stock in appearance

Cons:
-Lexus dealer charged me $400 for the factory roof rails

I too have an iKamper (4 person) and I've been wondering what i want to use to mount it on my LX 700h. Does the Thule mount on the same spot wher the OEM cross bar goes, where the dimples are located?

I mounted it at the same location, but it can be adjusted wherever you want. Might adjust more forward and aft when hunting season comes and I mount the iKamper.
