It's official my wife is pregnant and the Xtra Cab taco doesn't have a whole lot of purpose for us anymore. Being that times are tough, I'd like to trade it for a 4runner or FJ80. It's mildly built and is a great pickup as described below. It can be my taco + cash for your ride depending on what is out there. I'm up to negotiate on anything offered. It doesn't have to be a pretty car either. Body damage is no biggie to me. I will put up a buy it now price of $6000 FIRM.

98 Xtra Cab NON-trd.
Runs well and drivers great! White with gray interior. Truck has 189,xxx miles. 2.7L Manual with J shift case. 4.10 gears. Manual windows and locks. Cruise control. A/C works great.
It has a camper shell (with fishin pole racks), polyurethane lined bed, 03 corolla seats (both in great shape), OME N91's with 882 springs (I'm getting about 2.5" of lift), manual hubs, XRC8 winch (with canvas weather cover), custom winch bumper, .120 wall HREW square sliders, 31x10.50R15 Goodyear Wrangler AT's (65%), Hella 500's wired through a relay to come on with the highbeams, Scion TC Mp3/radio/CD player, Alcoa aluminum 15x8's painted black, white rustoleum paint job, tinted windows, and CBI rear frame reinforcement plates.
It has been a great truck for me, my wife, and my dog to go camping/fishing with. The original paint (red) was shot and being that it was a campin/fishin truck I sanded and spray painted it with single stage white enamel Rustoleum. The paint has held up well but is starting to show its age a bit with some small chips here and there. Also, the wheels are aluminum that have been painted over (I bought them that way). Every few months I take a can of flat black rustoleum and touch em up for a like new finish.
At 158k I did a tune up, I also replaced the original clutch with a factory replacement and the 'old' style cast iron header (cracked) with a new factory 'header' type manifold, and at 168k I replaced the radiator (had a small leak). Since I bought her shes had regular oil changes with Mobil 1 10w-40 HM full synthetic and regular Dino oil flushes in the tranny and diffs. No leaks!
The truck itself is in good condition with minor dings and scratches to the exterior. There is a dent on pass front fender and a dented/cracked taillight (recent) on the driver's side rear. Interior has normal wear and tear/stains with no major damage. The 03 Corolla seats are much better than the stockers and you can actually take long trips without destroying your back. The rear passenger seatbelt on the driver's side went bad a few months ago and I removed it along with the seat and seat mounts. I left the seat belt link mounts to use as a possible anchor points for any gear/tools I might need to stow back there. I also built a custom platorm that fits nice and snug in the back seat to give my lab a place to lay and hangout on long trips. I carpeted it to match the factory color and is easily removable if I need access to the storage compartments or to fold down the remaining rear seat for someone to sit back there.

It's a 94 with a rebuilt 3.0. Had it put in with a new radiator about 20k ago. Just bored with it and don't really need an SUV. Never been crashed. Always run 10-40 Castrol every 3k in it. Leather interior with a wear mark on the driver's seat. A/C blows nice and cold. 4WD works, unfortunately it just has street tires on it. Wasn't an off road toy. Just gets driven to and from work here in Palmdale. If you want, I'd be willing to come up to Tehachapi to meet you so you know it'll make it a ways.

wonder if this would make a decent base for an expo vehicle? im not very familar with the taco platform

very cool builds, whats the bed length? do you think it would be comfortable with an airmatress back there under the topper? i am about 5'9

Bed length is 6ft. We have never tried an airmattress. We usually just use some 2 inch foam and the sleeping bags. I'm 6ft tall and I fit in barely, so it would be fine in your case. It makes it super easy on the quick 3 day 2 night weekend camping trips when it seems more a hassle to put up a tent just to take it back down after 1 or 2 nights.

Sure. Let me know and I'll make room in the day to come over and meet you with the 4Runner and see what you think.

Hey partner. I'm going to pass on the 2nd gen. It is a beautiful ride but I was looking at the crash safety scores and it is not pretty for the 2nd gens. Its a great truck but I want to hold out for a 3rd gen with a bit better safety since its going to be the family vehicle for the wife and baby.

Totally understandable. Nice rig and g/l with the sale!
