There is a piggy back ecu that came with TRD s/c. I'll take a photo of it for you and look to see if there are any part numbers. I have the instructions somewhere in the garage and will try to look to see if they have a listing if what's included with the kit.

Let me know if you need anything else. I'll try to get to it by the end of the day.

so the same piggyback ECU that came off the Tundra would fit on the LC?

and i really appreciate the help

so doing a bit more research on the ECU piggyback. It seems that the Unichip ECU is much easier to tweak than the OEM one. this also goes for the urdUSA one as well.

wonder which one is better?

well i called ole gadget up and he was as about as helpful as a juggling clown at a funeral. Not sure i've met someone so lethargic. He bashed a bit on the Unichip piggback as i was just asking the difference between the one he said i needed and theirs....pretty much a let down.

I want to retract what i said earlier. I called back again today and spoke with him again and it was a better conversation. needless to say i'll have the URD unit on Monday.

Gadget was a big help

Cool, let me know how that unit performs, I might upgrade my OEM unit now that I have full aftermarket exhaust and am looking at that EMS intake unit.

For your other questions, if you ask on the newbie thread I created I'll answer them. Let's try to keep one thread the source of SC info so people don't have to search everywhere to find little bits of info.

anyone know the part number for the 2630mm long 6-rib belt i will need?

The belt we used on mine is a Gates Micro V K061045 from Carquest

paid $1500 shipped

How did you manage to find it soo low? I paid $2200 and I thought I had a deal. Mine has 15k miles on it from a 2004 Tundra very clean.

I actually was somewhat satisfied with stock power but loved my hundo that I was looking for some upgrade and decided on this one first. Then the EMS catback went on sale for $400 and I couldn't past that so I bought it.

Any update on the unit with the Gadget ecu?

00N8,

I was reading old threads and came across this one so thought I'd update for future users. If memory serves me correct, it looks like only 2 mud members have the URD piggyback. One seems to have has relative success, however that was after sending the unit back to gadget for a rewire and the other blew the motor (maybe that's the first documented cruiser engine failure).

I have been struggling with a qualified tuner for about 30 days now to get the URD piggyback to work and its still not satisfying the tuner's standards.

I'll update this with my personal outcome but wanted to keep the flow of info.

That'd be nice Cruiserhead. There's definitely a shortage of information available. I too will see what I can find.

I had one on my 4th Gen Runner (4.7) when given the chance to snag another for my 100....I passed like an idiot. :( The Runner install was still fresh and there were those rumblings about the Tundras at the time.

Oh, hindsight is sure 20/20.

:)
