I know this is a little lame, the the door on the jack compartment in my 99 won't stay closed. Any thoughts on what to use? Gluing it shut seems almost as extreme as paying the dealership some extreme amount of money for a new door. Of course, the real issue is that my wife continuously hears the squeak...

Sounds like the latch part of the door is not putting enough pressure against the stopper. You can jury-rig it by stuffing some foam in there to put some pressure on the latch. Or heat the plastic up and bend it a bit a then let it cool. But you risk breaking it. Or you can just buy a new door. How much would that cost? I need the little door on the opposite side as the latch cracked when somebody stepped on it.

The plastic "latch" was broken on mine as well. I fixed with a little piece black shock cord. Side benefit is that you'll never lose the door.
Will go down and take a few pictures. Stand by...

This was one of the first "fixes" I did to my '99 LX470...

The plastic door has a wedge shaped retainer thingy, on its edge. I shoved a piece of rubber tubing down into the wedge itself, to spread the wedge out and maintain more force against the door opening when the door is in place.

Some good ideas. I will try them this week.

Forgot to add the promised photos...

Here they are:
