My first code....P0505...help with TB removal and clean

Guess it's time to clean the throttle body and reset the ECU. Anyone have a write up on the Throttle Body removal? I've searched and searched and have found nothing...no write ups, no pics...nada. I thought I could detach the air intake from the throttle body and go. But, there appear to be numerous things attached that will have to come "unattached" in order to remove the air intake. Just want to make sure I don't foul something up.

I am about to clean my TB for the first time as well. I found this on a lexus site:

Then took the plastic engine cover off (2 round head bolts , then took off air cleaner box by loosening the main hose clamp and disconnecting throttle body large rubber air intake hose from the throttlebody itself (loosen clamps on both ends of the hose). It also requires removing 1 10mm bolt on the rebreather plastic box that is attached to the main TB air intake hose. To get that box and attached hose completely removed I also disconnected 2 PVC rubber hoses - 1 large hose and 1 small hose that are connected to rebreather box assembly. Sounds complicated buts it very simple and easy.
Once I had room to work, I lightly sprayed down the outside of the throttle body butterfly valve - there was just a small bit of dirt on it and the outside surfaces of the TB port. I then opened the valve with a finger and cleaned out the interior using several paper towels wetted down with TB cleaner. There was some significant but not huge amount of oily gunk to clean out just inside and past the butterfly valve opening on the bottom and top insides of the TB port just past the butterfly valve. Continued wiping with cleaner saturated paper towels until I got no more black oily residue showing on the towels.

Thanks! I did the TB clean yesterday. Boy was that thing DIRTY! It had a raised lip of carbon deposits. Cleaned it out real good (almost looks new). I cleaned the MAF sensor as well. Before buttoning everything back up, I SeaFoamed the vacuum line and did the SeaFoam Intake Clean.....smoked like crazy. Once done and driven a little, the CEL turned off and no more codes getting thrown. The engine feels "peppier" for sure. The idle was well north of 1k for a little bit, but has settled back down now.

I've never had to remove so much stuff to clean a TB. 10mm socket made quick work of the 4 bolts, then had to unhook 3 vacuum lines and coupling to the airbox. In the end, it was a 30 minute total job (really made sure I cleaned the TB) and WELL worth it.

Great, glad to hear it went well. I cleaned my MAF yesterday and it made a big difference. Doing the TB this evening after work. Was the link / info I included substantially in line with what you did?

Yup, that's an excellent write up. I didn't use paper towels though. I used lint-free microfiber cloth. I didn't want any lint getting in there and potentially fouling up the motor. I used the CRC Throttle Body Cleaner. Just spray lightly and you'll be fine.
