Oh man, I gotta get some lotto tickets for this weeks draw. This is one sweet ride and the price is very nice: $2000.

Pic is a photo shop of the same truck. Front is a SOA and rea is back to standard height. 350 Chev conversion with a 4spd. Very .

And no Dan, I am not telling you where it is. I might win the lottery Wed night. ;p

You can do 2 grand, John. :)

X2 I wish!

if its the one in kelowna its already sold ;p

Sure rub the salt in. :bang: Can't wait until the kids are all through school and I have money for my own toys.

BTW, do you know who bought it?

There is also an auto FJ62 for sale in the Okanogan too. Looks like a decent rig - but not my dream. :meh:

Edit: some Dan guy posted on the board at 11:30 today, "trade you for $2000 worth of parts".

I know, some guy Pmed me 2 days ago saying he bought it, now hes selling it again?

John, check the Seattle area. There's a nice lookin piggy for $1200 with a seized engine. Says a few spots of surface rust but otherwise sound. I know the temptation, I emailed yesterday. Were it running I'd probably be busy this weekend.

Psst, wanna buy a kid....maybe two....

What, you want to force some unsuspecting bloke into bankruptcy? :D I am telling my son now to get all the toys he wants before he gets snagged and then hide them away.

That one has been for sale for quite some time now. Perhaps Rob has looked at it on one of his trips to that area. Regardless, I couldn't afford it right now without winning some $$$ or working for Steve.

fj55 wagon

I crawled all over this one many months ago and sent John (canucksafari) some pics. Has a rust issue in the rear left pillar but that is about it. I pealed back the floor mats and crawled under the frame. It also has factory (or aftermarket) overdrive with 3spd (IIRC) on the floor, original F engine. Seats are flawless.

Original Warn winch (from the dealer it looks like). California truck originally, brought up about 2 years ago I think.

It's been for sale for a while....

Well damn, I guess it's hard to find something new. That one still seems a fair price to me though with the amount of rust, (probably) a belleview winch and fairy o.d. But what do I know I probably overpaid for most of my cruisers.

There is nothing wrong with that price (its a steal IMO) - just I don't have the $. Got to go look at a couple 8274s tonight. Again, the price is more than fair for two of them. But sometimes the :princess: doesn't understand it the same way. :meh:

Needs some work but it is a great start, the interior is practically mint.

If you don't garage it, it will slowly decay on you on the wet coast, unfortunately. The rear left pillar needs to be addressed where it was bashed. Other than that, it's pretty solid. Doors didn't sag, all the windows rolled up and down, etc.

The truck was under a tarp when I looked at it.

I know where it is, so I can take a quick drive by on the way home tomorrow (I'm in Shelton now), if you're really interested Martin and take some more pictures.

Last time I popped the hood, the air cleaner was off and some spark plugs were replaced, like the current owner was trying to start it. He does have a spare V8 to go in it (the ad doesn't say that, but it was available several months ago).

Personally, I love the overdrive. You're probably right that it's a Fairy O.D., but it had an instruction decal right next to the shift pattern decal that looked suspiciously factory, perhaps a dealer add-on like the winch?

I appreciate the offer Rob, I really do. But I don't think it's the right time for me to be dragging a non-runner up from the Olympic penninsula. I don't have shope space and I already have 4 cruisers sitting out in the rain. I also don't own aything to tow it home with and shipping would be silly. OTOH, my BJ60 is not likely to last much longer from the amount of rust (another year or two maybe) and this 55 would be a great candidate for a swap. Here is the message the owner/wife sent:
The back corner is the only dent to speak of, so i wanted to include it in the pictures. the truck does not run. the original engine is in it and frozen. we have a 350 that we were going to put in it, it's avaliable to go with the truck if you want it. we have title ready to go. if you could come look at it in person that would be best or i could send more photos if you know what you want to look at? the floor board and undercarriage is sound. the roof has a few spots that need to be tended to but for the most part it is surface rust that sands off. please feel free to call my husband for better info. thank you

OK Martin,

The description is accurate; the roof has that beautiful 'baked in the California sun' patina that is part paint, part primer and part rust (it looks a lot like that 55 from February in our Cruiser calendars IIRC).

If it were my truck, I would keep that look as you only get patina once. Spray it with a mixture of WD40 and Varsol or whatever those rat rod guys use to preserve the patina in their cars & trucks and you're good to go.

I'd better be careful, I might just talk myself into it!

Two 8274s are now sitting on the garage floor. :) Both need work and perhaps I will only end up with one good winch out of the two. But for $50 for both, it somewhat reduces the frustration of not being able to buy these beautiful FJ55s.

A small project to work on is better than no project!

24V?
