Who cuts off a good IFS mounts on a 70000 mile truck ? Me ! Doing all this just so I can fit 35" tires ,
I still gotta cut off the other side !!
Lots of noise , banged head , neighbors not happy , and a small fire , But i got one side done

Lesson 4 today Compare a stock 1972 fj40 Birfeild to a Outter 2011 Tacoma CV ? Axle shaft is the same spline count .
Should be all I need for 35 in tire ?

14" travel 7" up travel ' Tacoma TRD has ATrax , and lots of other push button 4x4 stuff Atrax locks any wheel that loses traction ,

A button????? are you kidding- A real 4X4 has levelers all over the floor that get confused, jammed, vibrate, and kick out when you don't want them too, now that's what you should have Mike-

Is that the same as a locker or is that more an brakes applying pressure as some would do with a limited slip? Been doing a lot of new Tacoma front diffs lately and they have all been open.

brakes applying pressure on wheel off the ground , good enought for me ,will only do the springs from Tahoe side ,never the rubicon from Loon , John your right ,only 9.5 " of wheel travel

Long hot summer , Got my 300m axles , Took truck in for Alignment , First shop would not do it ??? Second shop $80.00 and it drives like new ! I was stressed over that . Back on the road now and will upgrade steering rack later , I changed front R&P to 456 so next step is rear diff 456 gears and I can put my 35" tires on . Will buy new wheels someday for now I got another set of Tacoma wheels 7.5 x 17 for $150.00 picture of truck now with 31" bfg ( tires 4 sale ) also i still need to cut my rear fenders

Converting to the 934 allows for a full 28 degrees of movement verses the stock 21 degrees. In addition to the added strength the 934 design is also much shorter than the OE unit thus allowing for a longer axle length which reduces the CV angle in all ranges. The increased range of safe operation angle also reduces inner axle bind which is the direct result of the outer Birfield failure.
