My Bridgestone Revo's simply won't wear out...

So, got the Revos a while back on both trucks. Last year as they got 3/4 worn out on my truck they started making all kinds of odd noises and humming that had me checking for wheel bearings, etc. I kinda got down on them and replaced them on my wife's 80 this summer. Was looking forward to mine wearing out so I could put her 1/2 worn Revos on mine and wear them out. But despite a hard summer on mine including a 5700 mile tow of over 5000lbs they are simply not wearing down. After the tow, they are quiet again almost as if the higher wear of that trip ground them even somehow. Then on Sunday, I drove on the freeway at 70 in the heaviest rain of the year for an hour and it wasn't until I exited that I realized I was not in the truck with the new Michelins. I mention this not to showcase what an idiot I am, but because they did not even hint at hydroplaning once. And I hit some running water on the interstate through mountain curves, and was pushing it to get home in time to do something.

So, just an update. These things simply won't wear out and they're trying to work their way back into my favor now. It's October and back in the spring I was thinking they'd be paper thin by now when its time to put the winter tires on. So I was going to have them dismounted and refinish the rims over the winter. But they STILL have enough tread to put on for next summer!! Cripes.

I put a set on several vehicles, the last being my Tundra and always got over 70K of wear. Same experience, Doug -They wear like iron. Too bad they don't make them in a 35".
 
IIRC, mine were all the original Revo's.

Are you running the P metric or LT Revo? How many miles, how much tread left? My BFG A/T's are getting down to about 6/32" and looking to replace them, same delima as always, put BFG's back on or go to the Revo's. Interestingly, BFG has gotten ride of the D Load rated 265/75, they only have them in an E rated tire which does not have the severe snow rating. I have to go to a 285/75 to get the severe snow rated D tire.
 
I put a set of 285 Revos (not Revo 2) load range D maybe 5 years ago, have put 70K mi. on them and they still have good tread left (forgot last measure- will check).
 
I am glad that they are wearing well for you. It will be interesting to see how long you feel comfortable driving these before they need replacing.

Mine seamed to wear about normal or a little better. The only reason I changed over to BFG's was because of two side wall punctures. I am sure it is luck of the draw but I have had 4 sidewall punctures with Bridgestones and none with the BFG's. That is over 5 different trucks and 15 years.

I'm 36k miles into mine and still looking good. I had to double check my receipt to make sure I had put that many miles in 25 months...it seems like yesterday that I got the tires.
 
I tallied up the miles the other day after having them (five LT 285/75r16s) rotated at the local Firestone service center; they're currently past 51,000 and appear to be halfway worn at most. If they keep this up they'll approach the OEM LTXs for mileage or dry rot trying.

Mine have 47,000 miles on them and are at or close to the wear bars - pretty evenly worn due to rotating. They're the Pmetric model.

Easy enough to check the DOT number on the tires to see...just look for the four digit numeric code after the DOT on the tire; it is the week and year of manufacture 0110 would be the first week of 2010.

How "old" are they? That would be my only concern, if they were over six years old. Even without external signs of wear, they could be breaking down. After hearing about one of the roll-overs this summer due to a blowout, I would check to be safe.

This is Doug we are talking about. You can rest assured he will not use them past their due date.
