Are you leaking oil out the front main seal? - all the timing chain work requires pulling that front cover & very few here bother unless you already have a reason. Your friends gave you good info for timing belt motors, this isn't one.

The chain is fine, but if you're sitting in traffic I'd be far more concerned with your fan clutch than the timing chain. That I didn't see on your list & is money far better spent than pulling the chain cover for anything besides major oil leaking.

That chain is what makes these so awesome - I won't buy a vehicle with a timing belt, even the current 200 series motor is back to a chain drive. HTH.
OK from the looks of it there are no leaks. Will order the fan clutch, I think it's a good suggestion to have it replace also. Yes I just got the 200 last month and my local dealer informed that it's a chain also like my 80.

Update on my Baby 80: The seats and door sidings have arrived and they look real nice. Now I think I have to order the matching grey handles and speaker covers.

Aside from buying the LS switchbank for the windows & locks (can you source used parts - if available I'd hate to guess a price on new in grey(blue).

For the main bodies of the handles & speaker covers, is SEM branded paint or a quality/similar available?

Either that or find a wrecked 80 w/ the grey interior, get as much of it as possible.

Unless you're just made of money, so many trim parts just in a color change is a small fortune - but I gotta say those seats look sharp!

Thanks Linus. Yeah I really like how the seats turned out, the guys that made them very professional and they work fast too. As for the handles etc., I found this supplier from a friend and he sent me sample pics of what I need. Gave a good price for all the four doors. He seems to have almost anything and everything Toyota from 60 to 80. He sources them usually from Dubai either used or bnew. Here’s a pic of the set.

Installed a customized drop bracket for the rear panhard. And oooh yess ARB lockers for the Front and Rear! And while the pumpkins were open, regeared her to 4.88 to accomodate the planned 35 CSTs.

Finally got to take my Baby 80 out for her first trailride. It was raining all day so the trails were super muddy all the way. She handles really well and quite happy with the power she’s got with a little grunt to spare just in case I need it. It happily pulled up a few pickups too. Here are a few pics of our trails here in Cebu.

Dusk to dawn trailing with mah Weekend Warriors. Really had a great time. My Baby 80 got to show her true power especially on the boggy trails. Now to find a good carwash and hose her off.

A holiday came up in the middle of the week. So what’s a mudder to do?

Go Offroading of course.

What started as a “light trail” ended up as an all nighter. Starting out climbing the mountains to reach our campsite then later upon heading home decided to do one more trail and this time going down the river basin. Boy did we have fun!

Trying out some 38s and seeing where it rubs on flex. Liking how it all came together. Taking her out on Saturfay for some wheelin and flexin.
