For those that don't know, Wench (you'll still be stuck with that Wrench :D ) got his truck back on trail with us this past weekend.

I'm only going to say a few things; first his truck looks killer and the cage is sweet - it was totally a cool job, he packed the big harries for the weekend and did some good wheeling. Did some gnarly off camber stuff that no one else wanted part of (trail hasn't been done in a few years actually) and made it up a trail that I couldn't. Takes a good amount of courage to go back to the same location as his roll and flick it the :flipoff2: and wheel the snot out of your rig.

 to Wench.

excellent photos Wrench. It looks pretty nice. glad to hear it is back on the road. Did you get another one with the insurance payout?

Thanks Junk!
No Semlin that is the same one. I took the money and paid off the bank loan then bought the truck off the insurance co. And then bought a daily driver. :)

Looks very good.

I pity the guy who gets to pull the dash the next time though. ;)

Nothing like the "hair of the dog", way to go!!

Are those TRXUS MTs? If so, did you have them on this weekend? From Junk's post, it sounds like they do all right?

Looks great Wrench. The cage is sweet. From the last couple of pics, it looks as though nothing ever happened.

Congrats on getting your truck back.

Looks good Wrench ,just keep it that way :slap:

As for the cage its a nice job but it dosn't work well with the big boys like me :P
Me @ 6'3" 300+ I didnt have any place for my legs.(hell theres not much room for me in mine w/o a cage :-\ ) but looking at the way its installed if you could run the tube through the dash by the "A" post on the drivers side then I would have no problems but for Wrench he fits fine since just a little smaller then me :D

I really like that you found a way to keep the sun roof, all of the guys on the 80scool list said it wasn't possible with the controls where they are, i hope Junk will post this in the tech section because i will definitly be refering back to them if things go as planned i'll have an 8 point cage and chop the rear to look like an early 4runner later this year, Brad.

Ditto.

Very nice Wrench! Welcome back.

Brad, can't put it in tech, but can mark it as a faq if others want to post any other pics of other cages for 80's.

Wrench,

Very cool. I know that LandcruiserPhil also has a cage in his 80.

I've often wondered if the addition of a cage like that would *significantly* reduce dammage/injury in a street/highway crash/rollover.

It obviousely will help to hold form in a low speed/offroad roll, but I wonder if it is worth the investment for the sake of the wife and kids.

I guess it couldn't hurt (properly padded, of course.)

I imagine having a cage in the 80 like that would be a lot like wearing your seatbelt.

If you ever get in someone else's 80 without a cage...

:-[ You'll feel naked. ;) :D

Looks good. I bet you feel invincible!

The flip-side is when somebody gets in his and thinks "Why is this roll cage in here :o "

Glad to have you back Wrench,
also glad your cruiser did not suffer the same fate as my first one when I rolled it. FWIW I love the roll cage and now just need to slip it in without the better half noticing.
Dave

Yes the tires are 35" Truxxus MT's. And they worked great! I could not have been more pleased with them.
Thanks guys for all your nice comments. It is great to be back in the saddle again. I just hope I don't roll it again. I just want to have fun and wheel the heck out of it.
