Hey guys, i bought this Lc100 for 450$ from a 1 owner family friend. Southern vehicle purchased in Daytona FL, then living its life in Georgia. The vehicle had 482k mi and a locked up engine. I put in a used engine with 137k mi and enjoyed it for almost 2 years. The vehicle now has 491k miles and I’m making my way to a million! I’ve finally decided jazz it up a little bit and want to share my journey with you guys. I’ll update the thread as i move on. Here’s a few pictures of the rig when i first got it and where it’s going.

The previous owner rattle canned the roof rack, side mirrors, door handles, and side molding. Bless him, he didn’t mask off the areas well and there was a lot of overspray i gradually cleaned over time. My plan eventually was to take these parts back to stock.

So here we go. I started by removing the port installed flares. Like most guys debating removing the flares, there was a lot of dirt and grime behind them. I cleaned the area best i could, used an eraser wheel for some of the overspray.

Watching. I love this.

Aiming for that kind of mileage seems to be a pretty Toyota specific thing, I've not seen it a lot on other car forums with other owners. It sounds like you got a hell of a deal, and after that many miles this old girl deserves that kind of attention. I can't wait to see how it evolves.

Up next was cleaning the moldings before sanding and prepping for paint, pulling the door handles. Oh btw these were virgin door panels! Never removed, so that was nice. You can see here the bad shape with the rattle can spray job.

i had to replace my front bumper cover, it was broken around the grill and i just felt replacing it would be better than repairing it. With plans of going with 35’s i decided to chop some of the bumper before paint. So we could get a nice clean finish.

Here we can see the rattle can job chipping on the roof rack. I cleaned the rack, sanded and used SEM trim black. I did this not knowing I’d get a roof rack shortly after lol

Awesome thread. I would have not guessed it had over 300k.

Would a light chemical stripper have worked on that spray paint?

Digging this!
