My process here is cleaning everything best i can, blow any flaking paint because now would be the best time to not cut corners. OTHER THAN THESE TWO SPOTS. I promise this LC is dry.

After cleaning. There was some spots left, i used “Metal Rescue” Gel and wrapped it in plastic. This will grab up some of the stubborn tough to get to spots. I am now on my 5th application and i planned to add, clean, remove Gel every 24 hours. So I’ll be doing this for roughly 1 week before i clean it all off and go back in with a Dremel for the tough small spots. No worries, i will dig it all out.

Now I’m caught up with posts. Here are some parts i have to install after the glass cleaning. I have the full Dobinson 2.5-3” lift kit with upper control arms, heavy springs, torsion bars, diff drop, and trail tailor front extended sway bar links. I’ve received everything from my order except for the torsion bars. So that’s gives me some time to work with the front and rear rust spots.

Subbed! Nice work, i love these kinds of threads, a dead LC revived and in the right hands. You look Viet, are you viet?

The wheels I’ve picked up are Rays TE37X 16x8 -0 wrapped in 315/75/16 Yokohama Geolanders. Not going to lie my first two options. The Bf Goodrich Ko2 and KM3’s were sold out with no back order date. So i decided I’d try out these tires.

the wheels i ceramic coated right out of the box. Best to do this when wheels are new.

the te37x’s are now discontinued. I’m lucky i landed a set.

Funny story is I’ve purchased most of these parts before. I had almost everything to do the lift. Metal tech sliders and the wheels were bronze TE37X. I had a change of heart and said i was going to keep it stock. Sold all the parts to my local friend.. time went on and i said I’m going back to it! Lol I’m definitely a nut job.

This is all i have for now. I’ll keep you guys posted! The torsion bars are supposed to arrive by the end of the month (august). I plan to have the rust areas all cleaned up, glass installed, then I’ll move onto the lift. Hopefully by September October.

Nice nice, me too! Those wheels and tires looks sweet. You did the right thing by trimming the front bumper, it's gonna rub like crazy at the bottom of it, i've had many setups and that spot always rub. you'll also rub the pinch weld area, and the area behind the windshield reservoir plastic liner. Those are all minor, can't wait till the lift and wheels are on, thing is gonna look sick. I wish you had chosen to color match the cladding and bumpers though, unicolored Cruisers look the best to me.

Thank you. Sometimes i look back and think i should of did it all 1 color. I was close to color changing it to army green or an old FJ green. Im glad i didn’t because sometimes i build cars so nice, That i tend to not enjoy them. Maybe I’ll get metal bumpers and can easily respray the side moldings later.

You should do it-and enjoy the vehicle anyways !

Well done. 👏🏽👏🏽

I love everything going on here and part of me wants to do the same in terms of fixing dings, rust etc and the other part of me thinks that if I do that then I'll never leave a paved road.

I guess next you are going to tackle the interior.
You done an absolute outstanding refresh on the exterior.

Thank you. Yes, after the body shop I’m scheduled to drop it off at the upholstery shop. But I’m only doing the front seats, little arm rests, and center console. The backseats aren’t too bad. I was quoted 1100.$. That’s for seat covers installed.
