Bought my 1st 40. 1972 all original as far I I can tell. Frame has surface rust but I did not see any rot. Bought it from Mike dennis who is a former member of UC. He actually has another for sale if someone is interested.

Body seems pretty straight. Probably some bondo here and there but I'm not out to restore one yet anyways.

Found one hole in the floor at the drivers seat. Going to need some seats up front.

What I don't understand is this pic. The original owner cut the transmission hump. A replacement is included.

At the moment she doesn't. Ran when parked. As soon as I get it home I will do a compression test. If the motor isnt in operable I will have to do a swap.

My 1st battle seems to be getting it home. I was going to pick it up Saturday but my dad is probably going to have his trucks tied up. He is working on a Comercial job with a deadline. Looks like I may have to rent a u haul truck and trailer to bring her home.

Going to have around 1700 to throw at it. Hoping to wire wheel the frame. Wheel and sand body down. Replace wore out components mechanically and get it moving under its own power.

HAMOM time

Wrong direction I'm afraid. I get time off during the week now so hoping to start as soon as I get it home. That is the current hurdle.

That's legit. Looks pretty good to me! Factory wheels/hubcaps and seems to be all there for the most part.

There's nothing better than resurrecting one of these temporary non-runners...

IMHO some Wallyworld rattlecans on a couple of key parts make a nice difference... Bumpers, bezel, wheels, and roof.

Subscribed. Can't wait to see how you clean up the underside... U thinking of painting or treating the frame etc after u clean it off?

Congrats!'

Painting at the very least. A friend of mine has a 40 that he is wanting to put on an s10 frame. He wants to sell me his frame with rebuilt axles and transmission back. It is set up for a Ford motor. Axles are already converted to discs as well. Asking $ 1700.

A 40 on an S10 frame? Did I read that correctly?

What is the benefit of putting the 40 body on an S-10 frame?

Beats me...that's what he wants to do though.

Bringing it home Saturday. Hope to clock some wire wheel time in next week.

And a parts rig just showed up on the onsc site.
