Good timing, I just finished cleaning and painting mine. It's the support bracket for the carb fan. Attaches to the fire wall on the driver's side.

Awesome.

Thank you.

Big crankshaft nut and cadmium nut doohickey.

Heater restore. My 40 did not come with a heater, so I pulled this one from a parts truck. Yes, I realize the lower portion is not correct for a 1978. I may keep it as is, or keep a look out for a 1978 era heater. That being said, I blasted all parts, including the core, which really cleaned up nicely. I'm doing it in dark gray, as this is the color I've seen on unmolested 40s from this year.

All bolts and screws will be replaced with stainless steel. Hinge mechanisms are being blasted and then zinc coated. All rotten foam will be replaced as well.

Rusted vent spring was blasted, and then zinc coated.

The gray paint takes 24 hours to dry, so this side project will not be complete until tomorrow.

Anyone know what this sensor is at the top of my transmission? I managed to break a wire off of it, and it will be un-fixable due to the loacation of the break. I thought it was the back up switch, but the back up switch (correct me if I am wrong) can be seen in the lower part of the pic, coming off the side with the rubber cover.

Pulled apart, cleaned windings and brushes, bearings, etc. Blasted alloy outer cover and painted. Added got rid of the non JIS bolt pictured, and added cadmium JIS hardware, pulley, and cooling fan.

It's an emissions switch. Let the computer know it was in 4th gear.

Awesome. Thank you.
